President Bush hit the road again today to support Republican candidates in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire. First Lady Laura Bush also traveled the campaign trail by stumping in North Carolina and Georgia. The First Couple will continue traveling this weekend, heading to Florida and Minnesota this weekend. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I'm very happy for you OWF, And tell Eric I'm jealous over him getting to shake the Commander-in-Chief's hand. What a great story, Thanks for dharing it with us

I just realized that I never answered you about the autograph. He wasn't signing any. I had my letter from LAURA with me, just in case, so I could get BOTH their signatures on one piece of paper, but, I didn't get it out because I could see he wasn't doing the autograph thing.
Maybe next time! Or maybe I WILL send in that picture with white around it, and he could sign it for me!
You know, I have this feeling that if he saw me again, he would remember me.......in spite of all the people he meets every day. It was that personal.

Thanks so much for posting this. God bless him, he's got to be exhausted after all of this.

You wonder if the president remembers his encounters with the citizens-- he is so effective--or are we a bunch of silly girls with puppy love? I don't know but he sure makes me smile and tho I firmly believe in what he stands for I am not sure if I would be such an avid republican worker if he were not president. Hopefully, once GW retires the world will be in better shape and my support for the republican party will be just as strong.

I just pulled this from another thread. Very "frightening"....we're really fighting a big war here in America.
Sorry to rain on everyone's parade....but since you're all here.....

SUCH a deal! Great photos despite the media lights, etc. What an experience. I'm very happy for you and WVNan and your son, Eric. God bless Eternal Vigilance for the ticket arrangements.

don't you think he'll campaign in Texas in 2004? Of course, the state is pretty well sewed up isn't it? I'm sure he'll be in Texas some. Course, he's at Crawford quite a bit, but it would be very hard to just "bump" into him there.
How far are you from Arkansas, Oklahoma or New Mexico?
Well, I'm in West Central Texas, out by Abilene...about 200 miles west of Dallas. I definitely would drive several hours to see him!

Hey hey hey!!!! Girlfriend! It's back on. Did you guys pray? I saw the pictures and you did a great job, except I'm telling you right now, hair dye is on my shopping list for my next trip to Wal-Mart. I look like an albino there. Hehehe.
You did a super job of writing up our experience. Girls, I have to add that just touching him was second best to getting the hug and kiss. Like OWF, I was smitten with excitement and I'm too old for such emotions. Not good for the heart and blood pressure.
Yes, Eric was so very cute and so sweet to go along with his Mom and the old lady and have fun doing it. OWF, next time Bush comes to WV you plan on bringing hubby with you. Shucks, bring the whole family. I can sleep four extra people upstairs and two down, plus the pull-out couch. It was fun wasn't it?
I want to publically thank EternalVigilance for providing the tickets. He never lost patience with me even though I was calling and sending e-mails which constantly changed my plans.

From what I've heard and read about the President, not only does he have a genuine love for people, but he has a gift of
remembering people, including their names.....as does Lady Laura.
As to the silly girls thing......I don't think so.....for the main reason that what we admire in him more than anything else is his character, his principle and his strength......and we love that he adores Laura.
However.........he is really nice to look at, isn't he? :o)

Oh Ohio! What a nice report and how thrilled I am for you! What a wonderful experience that was; a day you will never forget. Thanks for telling us all about it and for sharing your pictures with us. ;-)
To: WVNan
I'll be happy to bring the whole family some time, WVNan, but we're rarely all in the same place at the same time!!
I had a wonderful time with you!!
UNFORTUNATELY, I have to get off the computer now! Daughter has a silly chemistry assignment that she has to do tonight! Don't you hate that when real life gets in the way of a good time? :o)
Hopefully I can catch you later tonight!
To: ohioWfan
Yeah, you know what has to happen don't you? GET YOUR OWN COMPUTER! I finally get re-connected and you have to go. The pits. Later. Go read a book.

Oh, I'm so happy for your two and Eric that you got to see our W. And to get a kiss!!!!!!!!!!and hug!!!!!!!!!! That will carry you for a long time. I was thinking today, that it's been almost 2 years to the day - Nov 4, 2000, that I saw him and got to shake his hand - NO KISS. sighhh....... He makes the most incredible impression. No wonder we love this President so much. He just connected - and there were thousands of us there. He made each us of feel special. What a wonderful gift he has. Since I didn't get a kiss, I was looking him right in the eye - and they were BLUE.
