First Lady Laura Bush also traveled the campaign trail by stumping in North Carolina and Georgia. The First Couple will continue traveling this weekend, heading to Florida and Minnesota this weekend. I can't think of a better place to report this tidbit than right here on the Dose. There are two stock brokers who have a program on local radio every week. Today, they told their listeners to VOTE FOR REPUBLICANS. They never mention politics, but they said that if Bush's team wins, the market will probably go UP on Wednesday, and if the democrats win, it will probably go down. They cited Bush's tax cuts at the reason. (He's winning them over, one by one, or two by two in this case.)

Nice job Ohio - you got to do something most of us will never get to do!

ohioWfan,
Thank you sooooo much for the ping! Love your pictures, and I'm very happy that you had an "up close and personal" encounter with our great President!! Hopefully, one of these days, GWB will be in Texas and I'll get to meet he and Laura! A girl who works for me met him when he was campaigning for governor in Texas the first time. She has loved him since!! He walked up to her in a supermarket and said, "I'm George Bush, and I am running for governor. I would really appreciate your vote." He asked what her name was, and when she told him, he said, "That's a very pretty name!" What a charmer!!

Wow...What a day!Yup! That about sums it up!
Thanks all for your kind words!
kitkat, I'm glad you have decided to forgive me! I would have been cut to the quick had you not!
And about that one soul at a time thing.......it's working, isn't it?!
Keep it up, Mr. President! To know you is to love you!
(Did I mention that he was incredibly handsome, up close and personal??)

Great pics and I am happy for you. I know the feeling when seeing the president. Now, did I understand--did he kiss you?

What a charmer!!He sure is! And he's using all that charm in the right way for the right reasons!
It still makes a girl melt into a little puddle on the floor though.......even if she's 53, and very happily married!
btw, don't you think he'll campaign in Texas in 2004? Of course, the state is pretty well sewed up isn't it?
How far are you from Arkansas, Oklahoma or New Mexico? Remember, I'm from OHIO, and I saw him in West Virginia.....
To: olliemb
Yes, yes, yes he did......on my left cheek....and I could still feel his lips for a very long time afterward!
It gives me chills thinking about it!
(I didn't get to put my arm around his waist, though! :o)

LOL! I said to him, as I shook his hand very firmly,
"You are going to WIN this thing, you know!"
And he leaned over, kissed me on the cheek, and said, in my ear, "Ya know what. I think you're right!"
Then we talked a bit more about how he was feeling and how he was doing. I told him I had complete confidence in him and patted him on the shoulder.
He was very sweet and as Ohio says, he is incredibly handsome in person!

Wow! I can't believe how close you were!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am astounded!!! Gosh these pictures are great. I am so glad that you got close and that you picked the correct side that he came down to and started greeting people. Can you even believe it!!! Did you get his autograph?
You'll never believe this, but I am working on tickets for the Talent Rally here in STL on Monday---we called yesterday and they said "yeah come down and get tickets at X place from X-X time and you can have a ticket" so we show up this morning--we are not on any list and they told us that the volunteers get a ticket first (naturally which is fine) and that they would take our phone number and put us on a waiting list for tickets. I'd say my chances of getting tickets are about nil. And it's too bad- I had taken off work Monday to attend the rally and it looks like I probably won't get to see W. I am so disappointed, but still holding out hope!!!

He then reached out and shook Eric's hand, and gave a young soldier the thrill of a lifetime......he looked at me afterwards and said, "I just shook hands with my Commander in Chief!"ERIC!!!!!!!!!! YOU LUCKY DUCK!!!!!
To: ohioWfan
Ok, I just want you to know that your #205 had me in tears! I have also met President Bush, held his hand, kissed him and told him that I was praying for him...it brought back all the memories. When he walked away from me at last, I burst into tears! Your recounting of this wonderful meeting was wonderful! Full of emotion and passion and detail. I am so happy for you and Eric, who got to meet his Commander-In-Chief! Great pictures, too! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Our President is grateful for supporters like you!!
To: lawgirl
Oh, lawgirl! .... :-(
Go anyway ..... maybe you'll get to see him arriving at least .... or leaving. It was thrilling for me the day I just got to see the limousine drive by and he waved the 3-finger salute out the back window.
Prayers continuing for you and your hubby, Sweetie!
*hugs*
