President Bush hit the road again today to support Republican candidates in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire. First Lady Laura Bush also traveled the campaign trail by stumping in North Carolina and Georgia. The First Couple will continue traveling this weekend, heading to Florida and Minnesota this weekend. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

**Send it to Homeschool Mama. There is NO reason you should have to give up your computer time to do buttonholes. She won't mind.**
Oh brother

What a totally amazingly ignorant post, Mom! Pfffbbbttttt!

Excuse me while I vomit.

Thanks, Rintense!

He appealed to Republicans, Democrats and those 'not interested in politics' to get out and vote and give him what he needs to defend America. Surely you must have heard that incorrectly. Everyone knows that Republicans don't minorities, liberals, etc. to vote. ;)
Great report! Thanks for sharing.

LOL, you weren't here to give your side of the story. I had to go with the info she gave me. How are you doing? Better yet?

Good morning rintense,
I am going to a rally tomorrow to see this good man we are blessed to have as our nation's leader. The appearance of President Bush will take place on Sunday, around 12 noon in downtown Sprinfield, Illinois.
OK now let me tell you how I really feel YEEHAH !!!
Here is a link to a local daily newspaper with further details. I'll report fully on the event as soon as I return to my humble abode.

Thanks for letting me know! I've invented some interesting food concoctions, but that one never occurred to me, pb with cereal!

Great news, freepersup! I can't wait to read your report. Take a camera too! Have fun.
Truth be told, I'm getting a bit jealous of all my freeper friends getting to see the President or the First Lady. Sheesh...we have nada going on in my state (Washington) so W hasn't even been here since the 2000 election! Oh well, y'all just enjoy yourselves!

Well, yikes.....I suppose I could do that later this afternoon!
I've got all my pictures uploaded and ready to go, so maybe I'll piggyback on last night's Dose (WHICH I MISSED!!!) instead of waiting until tonight!
Check back in an hour or two......I'll work on it! :o)
To: ohioWfan
Okay...will do. I will check back. You can always piggy back on last night's Dose and repost it on tonight's Dose. I CANNOT WAIT to hear your report.
Have you washed your cheek yet?

It's always good to hear from you Wphile-
The weather is supposed to change for the worse, so the powers that be, moved the event inside of the state's former Illinois National Guard Armory bldg. The rally was to be held outdoors on the grounds of the old State Capitol bldg. This action reduced the crowd capacity to 5,000.
A tight race between two incumbents: John Shimkus (R) and David Phelps (D) is bringing the President to the "prairie" state. The Democrats drew the legislative districts, which were upheld by the mostly Democrat filled Illinois Supreme Court. This gerrymandering led to the showdown between two realtively well liked Congressmen. I believe it is one of two races nationwide that the President is paying special attention to this weekend.
I have yet to obtain a digital camera, darn it ! Maybe I'll borrow one.
In keeping with the very best of freeper traditions: I plan to out fox the wilest of political aficionados this Sunday, as I am planning on showing up at an unbelieveably early time of morning, thus ensuring myself a place at the front of the line. he he he snicker lol
REALITY CHECK: The peasantry may very well end up in some obscure location, as the party heads in charge of organizing this event dole out the premium seating / viewing, to the chosen ones. Now that my bubble has burst and the harsh reality of it all sets in, I can brace for the worst, should it befall me.

You are going to get in line
early??Why, imagine that! LOL!
Lots of freepers have been getting awfully close to W at these rallies. Perhaps they can provide some tips. Talk to OhioWfan and WVNan. Also, someone in NH got to shake his hand. I'll try to find out who that is.
Good luck!

I've read some encouraging reports lately. I have to run some errands shortly. Talk to you on the dose later tonight or tomorrow night.
It will be interesting to see who else is up early in the morning waiting in line... take care !

OK, folks.....here goes nothing! Remember that I'm an amateur photographer with an inexpensive camera, and that we were a LONG way from the podium! These aren't great pictures, but I TOOK THEM! :o)
On Tuesday night, fellow Bushbot and FRiend, WVNan, freeped me with the information that she could get tickets to hear the President on Thursday night in Charleston, W. Va, and wondered if I'd like to make the drive and go with her. After some contortions in my schedule, I decided to go, and on the phone, realized that Eric could go too!
We left Thursday morning, got to WVNan's house.....met her charming husband and son, and took off for the Civic Center. The line was already pretty long when we got there at around 3:00, but we got in line, WVNan called Eternal Vigilance, who came and gave us the tickets.
The doors opened at 4:00 and we filed in slowly, went through security and got in the arena. First we sat down in the front row of the lower balcony, but the umbrella and media cameras were in the way, and we saw that people were standing on the floor up front and appeared to just be walking up there.......so that's exactly what we did......walked up to the rail.
There were songs, a local band, lots of WVa candidates who spoke, including senatorial candidate Jay Wolfe, and Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito. She said that the President was on his way, and that she would be back with him soon.
I tried to maintain my composure, and it probably looked like I was doing so, but I was going crazy on the inside! There was added excitement when a man strode onto the stage and afixed the Presidential seal on the front of the podium.
Sometime between 6:45 and 7:00, lights started flashing behind the curtain on the other side of the stage from where we were standing (about 75 feet from the podium, to the speaker's left). There was vocal disappointment around us that the President was coming in from the other side, but a great deal of hope when we saw the SS agent straighten up the stairs not 10 feet in front of us.
The crowd started to buzz when Capito came on, and introduced him....the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, GEORGE W. BUSH!! Everyone went wild with cheers and screams and flag waving as he energetically strode on stage acknowledging the applause and standing with Capito arm in arm.
There were lots of media lights, so this photo is really washed out......
The President spoke on familiar subjects with great enthusiasm and intensity......it was hard to believe that this was his 3rd rally that day, other than the slight hoarseness in his voice when he began speaking.
