Coleman is a NY native, hence the accent. I don't know if his opponents have tried to make an issue of it. If so, it hasn't gotten any traction.

Ahhhh...but Dylan is from Minnesota - Duluth I believe.
To state that Dylan is your favorite musician just might turn some votes around in that liberal area of the state.

Here's where I posted some tidbits from Coleman's own website regarding his background. Listening to tonight's debate, I was onto the NYC accent as well - must be the
Henry Higgins in me :-).

I can't believe this Green Party candidate is wearing a sweater and jeans.Yeah- at least the GP gubenatorial candidate here wore a suit and tie to a televised debate. (though he does have a ponytail..)

[...] the blind guy in blue jeans, picked his nose, brought his hand down to his lap, and rolled the booger around in the fingers of his right hand. Not inappropriate for the Green candidate.

LOL!

And I'm so glad to hear a blind guy won't have a gun in his house. LOL!
If anyone should get the 'sympathy' vote it is blind guy!

It's time for someone to ask Mondale, "Where's The Beef?"
To: William McKinley
Mondale finally realized that everytime he opens his mouth he drops another tenth of a point in the polls.
To: hellinahandcart
Haha. Oh well, at least Fritz has $50 now. What makes you think that 50$ will go to Fritz?
We are talking about Democrats you know!
To: gortklattu
Mondale doesn't have to show up. Remember, the Dems vote emotionally. His going to a debate means nothing to themIt is not the Democrates he has to convince it is the Independents.
Clearly the Green Party was giving Wellstone a pass with their candiate. However, Venturas reaction to the 'memorial' is going to hurt the Democrats. Plus, the fact that absentee ballots will be counted is another plus for the Republicans.
The Democrats do not control that State like they do NJ.

Dylan is a Minnesota native, and though BD has leftist leanings, his influence as an artist the past 40 years cannot be underestimated.
Some of Dylan's songs reflect good conservative values...("Neighborhood Bully" is the prime example I'm thinking of.)

What makes you think that 50$ will go to Fritz? Now that you mention it, the "begging letter" is clearly aimed at separating gullible college students from their weekend beer money. These kids would be better served by partying.
Yesterday, the GOP went into full attack mode. *[yeah, their candidate actually showed his face at the debate]* The White House announced that Vice President Dick Cheney, First Lady Laura Bush and President Bush would make successive appearances in Minnesota, beginning today, for Wellstone's opponent Norm Coleman. *[My God, how low will those Republicans stoop? :P]*
We've been talking with the Mondale campaign, and they're emotionally exhausted and besieged. *[After only four farkin' days?]* Mondale has no staff, no media dollars, and no web site. GOP attacks keep coming, and the money keeps rolling in for Coleman -- the Republicans now see this as a winnable race.
Mondale and his volunteer staff are good people running under the most difficult of personal and political conditions. We've just got to help. We've set up a way to give to the Mondale campaign through our web site. They need to raise at least one million dollars TODAY to counter the GOP onslaught. We're working to raise $100,000 of that by 8pm Eastern Time, so we can get a check to the campaign overnight. We'll deliver another check at 8 pm EST on Saturday.
Those checks ain't gonna clear by Election Day. The proceeds will go to recoup expenses.

Oh, you should have seen it. Blind guy (whose mom sure dressed him funny) sitting there whining "I just don't understand the whole 'gun thing'. I'd certainly never have one in *my* lodge..."
WTF would he do with one? Ventilate his lodge?
To: hellinahandcart
WTF would he do with one? Ventilate his lodge? LOL!
This is the day of PC, didn't you know that the blind can shoot as well anyone who can see!
To: fortheDeclaration; NotJustAnotherPrettyFace
Well, OF COURSE he can pull the trigger as well as any sighted person. < g >
LOL, I just checked the link to DU. The MoveOn pac has skinned the DUmmies to the tune of about $500.
To: fortheDeclaration
Didn't you love it when the Green Party guy said he was tired of politics as usual -- including the campaign ads, signs and buttons... but he had about six of said buttons plastered to his chest ??!!!

I thought all he needed to complete that ensemble was a beanie with a propeller on it.
