Scores of Maryland voters are in jeopardy of losing their vote in Tuesday's election after Democrat-appointed election officials rejected more than 10,000 Republican absentee-ballot applications and delayed notifying the voters.

Those absentee ballots could decide the tight governor's race between Republican Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. and Democrat Kathleen Kennedy Townsend.

What we learned in 2000 is that democrat election officials are incompetent.

One of the democrats' tricks is to disguise criminal intent by feigning incompetence.

People need to start going to jail for these kind of shenanigans. Forget filing a civil suit. Bring criminal charges.

My guess is that 80 percent of those people are physically capable of going to the polls. They should be mad enough to do it.

Party officials acquiesced when the election board stated in an Oct. 22 memorandum that voters would be notified in a timely manner.

There's the problem. They should have gotten a definite date.

"What we learned in 2000 is that democrat election officials are incompetent"

What we learned in 2000 is that they are criminals. They are not incompetent, please folks, don't cut these criminals this kind of slack. They are criminals involved in a criminal enterprise. It needs to be shouted from the roof tops not watered down to "incompetence".

Wait until 3:00 when Ron Smith gets his teeth into this.

He's smart enough to live in PA, and I looked into moving to Shrewsbury, PA back around '90 (and '79 and '85). The realtor I spoke with was married to a real estate tax assesor in MD, and they lived in PA too.

The Rats lost the gov. election back in '94 yet got a Pubbie to certify the fraud by giving her a gov. job! Look at what that cost MD!

You ain't seen nothing yet!

MD residents were warned continually on this site that the is election was a little tighter than the Democraps like, so it would be decided by fraud.

The mentally defective Kennedy-Townsend, who is so goddam dumb she needs "Good Morning" and "Hello" scripted, will receive all the votes she needs from Baltimore. A 105% turnout including multiple DEMOCRAP absentee ballots is on the way. These 10,000 denied absentees were just a little extra insurance.

If there are not at least 100,000 fake votes available in Baltimore, I'll drive down and buy every one of the phony-voting Democrap SOBs, including registered illegal aliens, multiple voters from the black churches, and the cities' graveyards a goddam drink! There are people voting in Baltimore who have been on the rolls since 1789.

It would be bad enough if illegal voters only voted once. Thanks to the magic of absentee ballots, motor voter, and a little computer wizardry with which the Democraps create entire clans and equip them with absentee ballots, the bastards will vote 3&4 times! How do you Marylanders think you got Glendenning?

There is one wild card. It is now possible for even a private citizen to effectively file an election fraud lawsuit. This coming election could take a year to settle. Wise up and take this state back from the stupid and those who manipulate them.

You're right. It was both cheating and incompetence and the Republicans should point this out when the election 2000 topic comes up. But they won't because they are gutless and just hope it all goes away.

On the other hand, what kind of bone-headed people are running the MD Republican Party that they can't create a proper absentee ballot request form

If I were you, I'd be quite frustrated about this incident, too. And, I'm sure the Dems were absolutely thrilled to see the mistakes.

This story sounds so familiar. It sounds like what happened in Florida 2000 - weren't applications for GOPers printed incorrectly at one point then, too?

democrat election officials are incompetent

I must STRONGLY disagree here. They are VERY competent at what they are attempting to accomplish.

I don't understand. Are there different absentee ballots for Republicans and Democrats?

These are absentee ballot applications. The Republican Party of Maryland mailed them out as part of a get-out-the-vote effort. We got one. We vote in person, so we didn't need it.

And why are these things being reviewed now? It seems to me that the legal pettifogging should have been ironed out six months ago.

Somebody screwed up in Legal, apparently.

That being said, if the Republicans screwed up and didn't ask voters' birthdates as required by law, they have nobody to blame but themselves. Get the ballots in and let the courts decide. (Not that the courts were much help in upholding the law in New Jersey, but still.)

Very sad, but true. The issue here seems to be that the Dem-appointed elections board said they would issue "timely" notices to the affected applicants, but didn't.

People we need the United Nations to supervise the election process in the United States. I hate to say it -- but we are quickly seeing corrupt "regimes" come up around the country in Democratic stongholds.
