Pop queen Madonna's abuse of religious symbols in her new video looks set to enrage devout Jews. The Material Girl is covered in Hebrew tattoos and wears a sacred Jewish prayer strap in the controversial video for the theme of the latest James Bond film, Die Another Day. At one point, sacred images go up in flames. Jewish spokeswoman Fiona Macaulay warns, "Her use of items intrinsic to Judaism will offend some people in the Jewish community." Madonna is herself a devout follower of the Kabbalah, a mystical branch of Judaism.

Is it just me or does anyone else find the names in the news lately interesting. "Madonna" is practising some form of Judaism. And a Jewish Senator recently deceased was named Paul...a main contributer to the New Testament. I don't know, my mind just finds these interesting.

Covered in Jewish tatoos? I thought I heard a while back that the more stricter Jews are very against tatooing. I know not all Jews think along those lines. Anyhow, I would be interested in seeing this video. But it's a shame that she's continuing her streak of offending major religions. I would have prefered hearing that she had a more controversial Islamic or New Agey theme: you know, dream catchers bursting in flames, crystal stones falling from the sky and pummeling people sitting in lotus positions, wiccans and druids sipping chai while relaxing in a hot tub full of blood, etc. I'll never break into the music business, but I can dream.

At least neither the tatooed Madonna nor the late Paul were claiming to be Catholic at the time they made the news!

Well, the homosexual community has to watch SOMETHING.

"...Jewish spokeswoman Fiona Macaulay..."This reporter has her facts really screwed up. Fiona Macaulay must be a Catholic spokeswoman. Seeing Madonna in her new Arab garb for her next insult, Fiona was heard saying "Manly yes, but I like it too."

They all love that feel-good, do-it-if-it-feels-good "religion." It is always some mystical religion that involves meditation and burning incense, or something along that line. And, they will ALWAYS, ALWAYS make the statement about being "against organized religion." Two of the biggest ways to be considered brilliant in Billywould are, (1)being a dim, and (2)hating Christianity.

Jewish spokeswoman Fiona Macaulay warns, "Her use of items intrinsic to Judaism will offend some people in the Jewish community." What the heck does THAT mean?
Madonna's spokewoman (who happens to be Jewish), Fiona Macaulay...
or maybe:
(Spokesperson for the whole Jewish faith) Fiona Macaulay...

I think gay men are usually associated with good taste in art though.

Given the statement, "will offend some people", I gather that someone who admires Madonna was found, to give an opinion on the video. It is the same as the media going to feminists when doing a story about what affects women.

I wouldn't consider Judy and Liza posters to be art.

That is not even enough to cover the cost of the catering on the film.

Actually, I was responding to
post 6, which did reference Swept Away.

I just happen to be flipping through the channels and came across her video. I watched because I knew would be contraversal in some way. It was pure trash, but then again it's Madonna, we should expect nothing less. It was very violent.

I think I read that the movie was being pulled out of most theaters.
To: agrace
You're right...I missed that..sorry...
To: MotleyGirl70
Why anyone keeps giving her movie roles is beyond me. I have never heard of anyone talk about wanting to see one of her movies.
To: Paul Atreides
Madonna is herself a devout follower of the Kabbalah, a mystical branch of JudaismI'm guessing her brand of Kabbalah worship is the Golden Dawn and Aleister Crowley sort, complete with the ritual summon of the Goetia.

"on sunday oct 27, her newest movie, Swept Away, made a nationwide total of $3,647 ... since release, it has amassed $598,645"
I wish to know each and every one of these idiots phone numbers and call them to inquire why they spent money to see this hags film.....we could wrap this up in a couple hours if we hurry...:)

That's ok, it's still funny. :) And Paul, I think you're right, I think it's totally closed already. Poor, poor Madonna.
