Some "memorial service", huh? I bet Cheney is relieved he was "disinvited" and didn't have to sit through what turned out to be a mini-Democratic-convention. All that was missing was the balloon drop!
If this wasn't a blatant "campaign activity" orchestrated by the Wellstone sons and their handlers, possibly James Carville as was reported yesterday, I don't know what was!

I think I know the reason they "disinvited" Cheney. It has nothing to do with personal feelings. They knew the kind of event that was going to happen, and knew it might get out of hand. And they knew it wouldn't look good to see the audience boo and disrespect Cheney. People don't tolerate disrespect for the office of the Presidency, and Cheney is an extension of that.
To: I still care
Agreed! Even Carville the "party planner" probably knew that!
To: I still care
Might get out of hand?I'm sure they planned for it to get out of hand.
Ghouls will act like ghouls.
I agree with the statements that we are seeing a window into the truth of the democrat/socialist mind. No consideration for God therefore politics has become their god.
Such vanity - sacrifice all on the altar of power of the few.
Wonder if they think that power gives them eternal life?

It was hardly a 'mini' democratic convention; it was a full court press, stem-winders and all. A disgraceful and tasteless 'memorial', but we've come to expect that of Clinton Democrats...a shameless, classless bunch of political hacks that delight in doing the 60's thing. They haven't grown up at all, still the radical left of their Marxist teachings.
These people, Bill, Hillary and Al Gore and the rest, are not liberals they are Socialists, call them what they are.

Dont imagine the atheists among them worry too much about eternal life...
The rest seem to figure, at least imo, that it is better to rule in hell...than to serve in Heaven
Too bad they will do neither....
As they love to dupe...they also have been duped ...by the master duper....

I wonder if Mary Matalyn (sp?) warned him not to go. . .

The young Dems are going around saying "Who's Mondale"?
The older Dems are dusting him off and have obviously hired Al's makeup "crew". When's the last time you saw a 75 year old with rosey Cheeks??
Wonder how much Mondale got paid to "un-retire"?
To: NotJustAnotherPrettyFace
Given the lack of honor or honesty among the Dems, I would expect that a few years from now, one of the "horrible things" to tar Republicans with, would be the "fact" that Cheney refused to attend Wellstone's funeral. I mean, Wellstone attended Goldwater's funeral, but got snubbed by the GOP. The difference between Spin and Lying is pretty much gone, so why not?
To: NotJustAnotherPrettyFace
How gauche, (and this term is connected more and more with The Dims!).
The Constitution enumerates one job for the Vice President of the United States, President of the Senate. VP Cheney's desire to attend the memorial services for one of his colleagues is understandable. The Wellstone family's action is incomprehensible! The lack of common sense, decorum and dignity diminishes their father's memory. Too bad!

And they knew it wouldn't look good to see the audience boo and disrespect Cheney. Hmmm...I think you give these cretins waaaaay too much credit. After all, these are RATs we're talking about.

Look on the bright side. The dis-invitation saved Cheney the trouble of walking out of the "memorial" campaign event.

WOW! Excellent comment!
I'm sure they planned for it to get out of hand.

..All that was missing was the balloon drop! Yeah...as one FReeper put it, I'm surprised they didn't have them walk by and throw dollar bills into the coffin.
What a truly scrofulous bunch (just learned that word on FR ytdy)

Limbaugh tried to push the Administration's diplomatically correct explanation yesterday (10/30)--that the VP's security requirements would be WAY too extensive and disrupt the event by screening too heavily.
Of course, only criminals have to worry about screening--at least that's what the Fed Aviation Admin tells us in the airports.
So the Administration's spin does NOT wash. Limbaugh ought to know better than trying to push that fertilizer.

The "disinviting of Cheney" is the best proof that they knew ahead of time what they were going to do.

You know...
It just occurred to me that the dis-invitation to Cheney is proof that they knew what this event was going to be from the outset. Right now the RATs are trying to say that they didn't plan the service to be a campaign event, they just got "swept up in the emotion." But, they knew before hand that it would be awkward for Cheney to be in attendance. Why would it be awkward for him if it weren't planned to be a campaign event. I guess they are lying again (surprise, surprise).

I have heard that some democrats have switched parties because of the memorial pep rally rant. I know that it is possible, they DID see the true democrat party that night, movers shakers sheisters.... I switched parties in 1972 when I saw how the demoncrazy party was being taken over by SDS, ACLU, hippies, anti-Americans, etc. Maybe some other people are seeing the true demoncrazy party now.....

Bunch of dimowits showing their true colors -
green on the outside and
red on the inside, like the watermelons they are!
Funeral or memorial? No, it was just a way to have another rally for the sick and demented. Hope and pray we seize the country back in this election.
