If I lived in Minnesota, I would be popping veins over this.

I live in Mn. and I can't take it anymore.

A 1964 Department of Defense directive authorizes the use of military aircraft for official business of Congress, or to attend the funeral of a sitting member, only if a request is made to the ''secretary of defense by the president of the Senate, the speaker of the House or their designated representatives.''
A spokesman for Vice President Dick Cheney, constitutionally designated as the president of the Senate, says Cheney made no request of the secretary of defense for military support to transport the congressional delegation to the Wellstone memorial.
A spokesman for Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., confirmed that Hastert made no such request either, according to the Insight report. OK ... Then who authorized the use of a miltary plane???

If we end up paying for this thing, there should be an uproar!
To: LiveFreeOrDie2001
Apparently Minnesota should be given back to the indians....any state that would elect somebody like Ventura as GOVERNOR....well, that is when I knew some folks had frost-bite of the brain.
To: Mo1
exactly. It doesn't sound as if any of the people on the authorized list gave the go ahead. If illegal then - hello federal prosecutors, where you at?
To: LiveFreeOrDie2001
Oh I am sure we will end up paying for it ..
But I was like to know who took it upon themselves to order this plane??

Seems to me this article fails to say who DID request the planes. Hmmmm?
Who approved using the Marines as escorts?

**I live in Mn. and I can't take it anymore.**
Then get some other friends to vote for Coleman next week.
To: LiveFreeOrDie2001
Shout this loud and often -- this might be enough to tip the balance... maybe in multiple races.

If illegal then - hello federal prosecutors, where you at? Might want to also contact the FCC about the free air time the DNC had last night for that political pep rally

I live in Mn. and I can't take it anymore.I feel sorry for you folks having your noses shoved in this BS. I would feel the same way. We are all outraged, but you get it much worse than the rest of us.
What, if I may ask, is the general tenor of the whole episode?

"Get some friends and vote for Coleman"
Oh Man, I was talking all day, to everyone I knowand guess what?
EVERYONE I talked to except 1 bullhead (50-60 people) are as mad as I am and are voting for Coleman!
To: LiveFreeOrDie2001
I hadn't thought about it, but this raises the question- who paid for the event? Does anyone know?

News outlets, people are outraged here in Mn. You would not believe it.
The local newscasts let off with a tone of being "DUPED" and will try to make up for it.
