Republicans need to keep the passion alive. The Rats have (again) shown their true colors. It is now the party of Clinton. May the "damage" be permanent...

And, if Coleman wins, the Governor may simply appoint him to finish the remainder of Wellstone's term. The GOP won't have to wait for Talent in Missouri to gain a majority...

Daschle looked absolutely stricken last night. He didn't smile, in fact he was very somber the whole evening. I don't know if it was from grief or the realization that perhaps his majority leader position was going to be threatened by the whole spectacle.

What the Democrats did was politically stupid. It may just energize Republican voters across the country enough to give the GOP back the Senate. If any one deserves thanks for making it happen, its Bubba and Terry McAwful!

Whoever votes for Mondale is without honor. If the state of Minnesota elects him, the entire state is disgraced.

Interesting. It seems like Mondale had this in the bag. All he had to do was make a few solemn statements, duck all debates, and avoid making any public appearances until after the election.

There once was a service for Wellstone
That when it got going got real "gone"
The senator's sons
The son of a guns,
Just yoked Walter M. with a millstone.
Ok, so the rhyme is strained, but not much rhymes with Wellstone. Hailstone. Hell's tone. Bell tone. Mail phone. parsy the hurried.

I hope people also remember the look of utter elation on the faces of Bill and Hillary.

The greatest gift for a Republican majority in America has been, bless his dear evil black heart, Bubba!

While it hasn't gotten huge play in the national media, the "memorial service" for the late Senator Wellstone and the other victims was so over the top, and distasteful, it has the real potential to backlash hard on the Democrats. I watched Peter Jennings tonight, and I have to admit that ABC was balanced in its coverage, which means that it was SO over the top that they couldn't ignore that angle.

Re#7 Yep. But the Rats weren't happy with that. They wanted to nationalize the death. And they did. Just not the way they wanted. ;^)

And, to think that it was Dims whining about the photos of W on Air Force One, on 9-11.

I watched some of that last night and I could not believe it. I can't imagine anything worse than having the media cry Republicans has best stay off the campaign trail and show respect or else and then having the Democrats do this.
I fully expected them to do lets win one for the gipper... but this was way over the top. think the plan was to do a win one for the gipper. But they did not know how to do it. I thought Harken looked and acted like an a$$. I can't imagine this act playing in Iowa either.
And the Wellstone Son standing on Dad's grave leading the cheers had all the humanity of a NATZI get together to remember the good old days at the gas chamber.

Yeah these people turn Democratic gold to lead wherever they show up. Its absolutely amazing!

Interesting info about the poll especially....
To: goldstategop
I'm not discounting the Wellstone sons' part in all of this, but it has the smell of Clinton/Carville/McAuliffe all over it.
To: Paul Atreides
I doubt the overnight polling numbers look good for Mondale right now.
The Democrats blew the sympathy vote away, and now they may have to deal with the "backlash vote."

I think that this is premature. Some of the Republicans that I've seen on TV today are desparately trying to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. They are basically saying "No big deal".
Can you believe these idiots? Even CNN and MSNBC have been somewhat critical but these idiot Republicans don't take advantage?
God, I sometimes wonder why in the world I associate myself with them.
