When I was a little boy, I recall a whole series of books sitting on my Dad's shelves:
Boat... and be D@mned!
Golf... and be D@mned!
Fish... and be D@mned!
...and I even recall one of the Ten Commandments of Boating:
"Spit ye not, even windward
for such shall return to plague thee..."
These books were a tongue-in-cheek effort to lampoon hobbies of the day, and as a kid I found them quite humorous... but there's nothing funny about the upcoming elections. The course our country takes at the beginning of the new century is going to be set by this event, and we all need to participate.
But whether it's the vote-fraud stories breaking out, the attempt to silence the Right, the deification of Senator Wellstone... whatever "issue" you choose to focus on- it should be apparent the Left is trying to highjack these elections.
We all need to get busy, get energized, get activated, and get out and vote. Voting is the bottom line of a particapatory, representative government. Try to convince your spouse, friends, relatives and co-workers that this is a crucial election, and that they need to go out and vote, and get others to go, too.
There's another thing, too-- data I have seen indicates that voter turnout will be near historical lows...
Don't be fooled by the lamenting of the Jackal Pack Press about how awful this is- they only chatter to hear themselves talk, anyway-- what it really means in practical terms is that everyone who bothers to vote has their vote leveraged-- it counts for more!
If take only one thing away from this essay, remember that. Your vote will mean more.
And just for further inspiration, I'll leave you with some links:
-Need Vote Fraud articles, stories, and evidence? Here's a source--
The following's a Jay-Mo ( just my opinion ) for your consideration.
1- Vote. Please, just do it. No matter what the outcome, at least you will have made your voice heard, and believe me, while your side may not prevail, demographers do study these things, and note trends.
Your vote is important.
2- This election may be the first where the usual spin and fraud has been less effective.
Fox is reaching a signifigant number of housholds, and at least half of America reports getting news from "alternative" sources- like the 'net, and talk radio- I believe this is finally making a difference.
3- Ignore the polls... they may be right, they may be wrong, but only until the final tally is made will we know for certain.
Me, I'm going to put my head down, listen to the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy on radio, and come to the 'net for information... and ignore the mainstream media- press and entertainment divisions.
Good luck; Godspeed, may the Right prevail and the gibbering hoardes of the Left be vanquished... but don't forget to Vote...
Darned shame that it comes down to this...but what the heck. The Dems are trying to pull a fast-one, and I'm countering by turning as many of my daughter's voting-age friends into staunch Republicans. Gotta grow the next crop! :-)
Well I guess if you say so...
Know what? I am actually encouraged from what I have seen of my teenage nieces. I'd describe their politics as "skeptical"- perhaps leaning libertarian, but just dubious about all the wonderful claims of "how much we are going to 'help' you" of either party.
Good advice, and I thank you.
Another suggestion. DO NOT ALLOW THE PRESSTITUTES ANY POWER TUESDAY NIGHT.
DO NOT WATCH THE BOUGHT PRESS LACKEYS ON TUESDAY NIGHT. DO NOT WATCH TELEVISION PERIOD. TURN IT OFF. AND IF YOU ARE A PRAYING PERSON, PRAY AND PRAISE AND THANK GOD! BUT DO NOT WATCH THE DEMONRAT REPORTERS.
I absolutely agree... I am going to ignore ( as much as I can, the dam' environment is saturated with propaganda! ) both the press and entertainment divisions of the media.
Two wings of the same bird or prey...
If I must watch TV, I'll tune in Fox, otherwise it will be the 'net, and Boortz, Rush, Hannity, the 2 Mikes- Reagan and Medved- for all my news.
BTW, here's where I hang out when FR is down:
-Free Dominion Guest Room for Freepers--
You might want to pass that link on to others... FD has a similar format ( HTML ) and while small, it's very friendly, and much superior to that ghastly Yahoo! chatroom.
Pfffttttt! o~<);-)
Thank-you, backhoe, for the kind words.
It was an honor and a privilege to meet you. The GA gang is not such a bad bunch after all!
And if it isn't, may God help us all!
Thank-you for posting this, backhoe. It needs to be shouted from the rooftops.
-Free Dominion Guest Room for Freepers--
I'd add more ( read the directions onsite ) but have to run- shopping, visiting my Mom in the Old Folks House of Bondage...
