Everything, and everyone, must be sacrificed, in promoting the cause of socialism. There is no honor among theives.

Wow. That is some cold-hearted damage control.
As repulsive as the Plane Crash Jamboree was, you have to give his sons a pass for being out of control: they lost both their parents and their sister, for crying out loud! Anyone in that situation might do or say things that they would regret in a more analytical moment.
But to insinuate that the whole dog and pony show was not "handled" from start to finish by the DNC is insulting to the intelligence of any voter.

Well, I don't know If it's true but I didn't see anyone complaining last night, or get up and walk out(outside of Lott or Ventura)....it looked like the party faithful were having a gay ol time.

She actually claimed that the Democratic Party would never have run it in such a fashion. I believe her. Democrats would never have been so stupid.
Previously, I thought Mondale had this election in the bag; now I think this may have changed everything.

The sons did strike me as particularly nasty pieces of work, definitely out of control. I think the Dems will live to regret what happened there, and that it was broadcast in its outrageous entirety.

Ferraro also said, "we need to remember that they are in mourning" which is probably the reason for their display. I didn't see very many people in mourning, just alot of smiling and backslapping. Granted the family may be, but the whole thing is just so weird.
I'm glad Cheney wasn't there.
I apologize if this posts more than once.

OH yes, I am sure that they boys knew enough, and had enough time, besides taking care of familial arrangements, to Get A Stadium, generate enough direct publicity to the right interest groups on the campus, and arrange to have more bussed in from out of state, as well as setting it up so the pols would all be strategically placed for the tv cameras, and schedule the speeches, hire the band, arrange the financials and arrange for tv coverage, for a four hour event.
Doesn't everyone have all that free time when a loved one dies?

the Democratic Party would never have run it in such a fashion. How many of the Democrats in attendance have expressed the opinion that it was in bad taste? Zero. They endorsed it, they participated in it, they loved it. As a caller to Rush said today, the Dems demonstrated that those with whom they disagree, they hate. They demonstrated that raw hatred by disinviting the vice president of the United States, by booing the Republicans and other non-Democrats in attendance, e.g. Ventura, and by the very nature of this ghoulish spectacle.

Sure. "Do it for Welstones children."
The sons are easy to dump on. They're not Democrat canidates. They were used as pawns.
Just saw Jessie on FOX news. I'll try to quote correctly:
"I feel violated. I feel duped. Trent Lott flew all the way down here to attend a memorial service for a fellow senator and was booood. I think the Democrats should hang their heads in shame."
Atta boy, Jessie.

This would explain why people like Bubba, Hillary(!), Mondull, and Algore were walking out mid-way through. It would certainly explain the shocked and perplexed looks they had on their faces...

These dems are clever as snakes. Blames the sons to shunt criticism. Are the mean wascally wepublicans gonna trash the grieving sons now? Also - it could be partially true. I saw the first son speak. He seemed to be happy with the way it was going and spouted more politics than real grief about his father. I think it was a collaboration. The dems took advantage of the sons' grief. So who in the dem apparatus is responsible for this? Note how all the speaches had similar campaign elements and no one slipped up and brought a normal memorial speech with them. Someone set the tone - besides - the boys.

A message for the Wellstone boys:
The DNC would like for you to speak at another political rally. They're sending a small charter plane to fly you there.
To: dead
Creep democrats would embalm Wellstones body and keep it displayed like Lenins if they thought it would get them votes

Geraldine Ferraro is usually a hardline democrat who spits out the usual talking points. If she is questioning last nights pathetic DNC Death Rally then there must be issues within the party.
To: dead
The last time I saw Ferraro on Fox News was during the Klintoon impeachment, shilling for him. Like Klintoon, every word out of her mouth is a lie to protect demodogs. I'm glad I haven't seen her since.
