Actually, many top scientists now believe God (or for those that refuse to acknowledge him) an intelligent creator formed the universe. This coincides with the big bang theroy as the way it was developed.
Did you see the Nova last night on Galileo and the Church. Many top theologins once thought that the heliocentric model of the solar system was in contravention of the Holy Scripture. Is it?
If the universe, something which is not in and of itself intelligent, required an intelligent creator, wouldn't something that is intelligent need a creator as well?

Yes, I watched that NOVA with great interest. Galilleo was a genius of the first order, I plan on reading his "dialogue" as soon as time is available.
Aquote that he wrote in his own manuscript of that book that was banned for over TWO HUNDRED YEARS is telling, and wise:
"Take note, theologians, you run the risk of someday having to condemn as heretics those who would declare, as you do, that the Earth stands still."

Many top theologins once thought that the heliocentric model of the solar system was in contravention of the Holy Scripture. What verses did they use to argue this point of view?
