You'd be surprised (or maybe not surprised) to know how many people think that if you point a loaded gun at a crook, he will walk up and take it away from you. I've actually had a co-worker laugh at the idea of arming airline pilots because he thought that hi-jackers would just take them away from them (pilots). Of course the idea that criminals will easily take a weapon away from armed citizens or pilots, many of whom have had military training, is ludicrous on the surface. But leftists have succeeded in brainwashing many average well-meaning Americans into believing the reverse.
