6-point swing since the last poll from Newsweek.
Newsweek Poll conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates. Latest: Oct. 24-25, 2002. N=581 likely voters nationwide. MoE ± 4.
If only Hutchinson had had the decency to not divorce his wife (imagine that--keeping one's wedding vows, or at least not immediately marrying some younger gal in the office if you do)....
If only Raciot had had the altruism to run against Baucus (and if we don't take the Senate, Raciot doesn't deserve to keep his cushy RNC job either!).....
If only we had been able to keep the NJSC in Republican control and keep Torch on the ballot (imagine that, too--a state having to follow its own election laws!).....
If only we had been able to keep Paul Wellstone's plane in the air (after all, even hallowed liberals are subject to the law of gravity and the great equalizer, Death)......
If only we could have caught onto the rampant voting fraud in South Dakota reservations earlier.....
If only someone had taught Bob Smith early in life the importance of shutting up and knowing when to graciously leave....
If only the same "rules" of etiquette, politics, and ethical behavior applied to Democrats as well as Republicans....
Then would someone care to tell me why we are slipping so dramatically in the Iowa futures market? I think we've lost 15-20 pts in the last 3-4 days.
I keep reading that Hutchinson does not have a chance in Ark. yet a recent poll stated the election was a 'dead heat'.
It seems that when Republicans are in a 'dead heat' at the end of the election cycle they are usually in good shape to win.
Note how the Republicans are gaining ground as we get closer to the election.
Yes, because we have a real leader as President!
If only the same "rules" of etiquette, politics, and ethical behavior applied to Democrats as well as Republicans....
With all due respect, and please don't take this personally, cut the crap.
The Democratic Party has been a haven for the unprincipled, the criminal, and the downright fascist since the Clintons taught them that they could lie, lie big, and win big.
Rush Limbaugh has been telling us for at least a decade that the media is the willing handmaiden of this confederacy of gangsters. You don't exactly expect the media to hold the Democrats to high standards, do you?
I hope not, anyway.
Take a close look at the Democratic Party. It's a Mafia Outfit, not a party.
You've got the Don, Bubba. You've got his vengeful, spiteful wife, a tribute to the Lady Macbeth in all of us. Then you've got the surrounding consiglieres and capos regimes who control money and territory.
Take McAuliffe, for instance. He's not a consigliere, but he is a capos regimes: his territory is the DNC. He stays in charge of the DNC as long as his activities benefit Bill and Hillary Clinton.
You will notice that I do not mention the House or Senate leadership. They don't even rank up there as capos regimes. They don't really matter to the Clintons, unless they are willing to be used. The old Outfit concept of "doing your Don a service in return for a service" doesn't exist to these people.
The Party is the way it is because the Old Democratic Party of labor guys and ethnic immigrants has fallen away. In its stead are the young radicals of the 1960's. They grew old, but never forgot their guiding principle: that there are no principles.
You should not be surprised by any of this. I gave up hope that the Democrats would stop careening towards fascism some time ago. Stop wasting your breath wishing that they are anything other than what they are.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
