Both are all about an Effete Elite making the laws for a WorkerClass to follow, yet the Laws remain ignored by the Elitists...they're purty much both all about controlling National Resources in the least amount of hands as possible.

I agree. But it's also all about partying. And I quote:
In perpetuating a revolution, there are two requirements: someone or something to revolt against and someone to actually show up and do the revolting. Dress is usually casual and both aprties may be flexible about time and place but if either faction fails to attend, the whole enterprise is likely to come off badly. In the Chinese Revolution of 1650 neither party showed up and the deposit on the hall was forfeited.

The people or parties revolted against are called the "oppressors" and are easily recognized as they seem to be the ones having all the fun. The "oppressors" generally get to wear suits, own land, and play their radios late at night without being yelled at. Their job is to maintain the "status quo," a condition where everything remains the same although they may be willing to paint every two years.
Wood Allen, "A Brief, Yet Helpful, Guide to Civil Disobedience"

From which we learn (1) Our Mr. Jenkins has a decidedly light-hearted view of this -- which is passable for a humorist but doesn't work quite right when you're talking to Iraqi dissidents whose relatives were murdered by Saddam and (2) When I post that he *has* accused us of being racists toward the Iraqis at the rally even though CSPAN shows us welcoming them, he really doesn't have a defense. He pulls up these quotes -- none of which were made by any of us at the rally -- to justify his disturbance at the very notion that possibly we might not be racist. He completely skirts the issue that he's not quoting us. His website is designed to leave the reader with the view that we who welcomed the Iraqis are racists against them. If we're not racist, then his whole day is ruined: his whole excuse for having fun is spoiled. There's nothing to revolt against and his efforts to extend his adolescence into adulthood are stymied.

You need us to be bad, bad people. It's important for your "fun." It bothers you when we're not all white and we're not racist. It really, really bothers you. And yet he still must pay us attention, he still craves our attention. For on some level, Mr. Jenkins understands that if we had "failed to attend," then "the whole enterprise" would have been "likely to come off badly."

Then you are going to have to call out those other posters (you know...the ones you say I do not identify even though I did) and call them out for misrepresenting the group.

We did -- and that includes YOUR posts, which misrepresent us as racist. Your website PLAINLY tells the readers that the DC Chapter -- which invited the Iraqis over -- were racists and didn't want them. You ascribe racist comments to us. You say "little did they know that they didn't want them."

It's a lie and you can't defend it. And you won't change your website. Because emotionally you *need* us to be racist. If we were all very much for civil rights (which we are), it would really, really bother you.

Maybe some day you'll think for yourself. But now your vision of reality is clearly groupthink: one of the first symptoms is denial of reality. This was Stalin's and Pol Pot's great advance in groupthink: the efficient and systematic effort to kill or at least rewrite history. Your group thinks we have to be racist and that we were. Follow you must, you self-proclaimed independent thinker. Follow you must.

"And I was referring to FR in general, not just the DC Chapter"

No, you weren't. As we repeatedly remind you, we can read. Your website says that as the Iraqis were amongst us, little did they know that we did not welcome them because of their race/ethnicity. There's no effort to indicate that we're anything other than total racists.

If I've asked you once, I've asked you twice: precisely who are you trying to persuade with your posts. We can read your website and you do call us racist.

"Criminal Record: Traffic THAT'S IT?"

P.S. Yeah, but I got the date of birth. How are you coming on your self-professed search for my date of birth? I'm well hidden from the commercial databases (I hate junk mail), so I bet it's a big problem for you. Please keep trying.

Hey, if you are not racist, don't sweat it. You have nothing to worry about.

?? I'm not sweating: you don't decide whether I'm a racist. I'm pointing out that your webpage accuses those of us Freepers that were at the rally of being a racist. And I'm not. So you lied.

Here's what you should sweat: you posted a public lie about me and my friends on your website, you won't correct it, and when you say to me "hey don't worry" you think that that's sooooo clever I won't notice that your published lie remains posted on your website.

If I said it once I said it a thousand times: I can read.

So I'm not worried that you're a liar. I'm not sweating it. I'm most cheerfully, most forcefully noting that fact here. Putting your contradictions right up to your face. This "slipping and sliding" about how I should just forget about what you posted about me and my friends if I know it's not true gets you nowhere. It doesn't answer the question of why you're lying.

Could it be, my dear Mr. Jenkins, that you *need* for me to be racist for your vision of social reality to conform to what you've been told conservatives should be? Why do you *need* me to be racist?

I know what I wrote, and I wasn't looking at FR DC in particular.

OK, I'm enjoying this. You know what you wrote. You know where you were looking/what you were thinking. But what you wrote isn't apparently what you were thinking. Because your website says that the same people that invited the Iraqis to speak are racist. I am one of those people. I am not racist. But that's what your website says.

Who was it, Pogo, who said: "Words mean whatever I think they mean?" This is positively Orwellian.

Get it straight: does your website not say that I and my group are a bunch of racists because you didn't *mean* for it to say that, or you back to saying that the website doesn't say what the website does say?

Muddy, with your most excellent command of English and Virginia-based spelling, have you a scholarly thought on this knotty problem?
