The Differences Between Conservatives and Liberals

On my Rail Fan Politics board, an internet forum for us rail fans to
discuss political issues, there are all stripes. Conservatives, Centrists, Idio... er, Liberals. It is frankly scary how some folks in this country think. I have established that liberals are very short sighted, and operate from an emotional level only. And one of great envy.

After one round of extended semi debate (conservatives debated, liberals merely ranted on in hatred), I came up with the following concise description of the entire debate.

I knew I hit the nail square on the head as I was met with a firestorm
of liberal ranting, all calling me hateful, bigoted, nonsensical and any other epithets that would obfuscate the real issues. By the reaction, I knew I had a winner. I have submitted this to Savage, Limbaugh, and few of the more local conservative talk show hosts.

This is the full hateful, bigoted, nonsensical piece. Short, concise
and to the point. It all comes down to this:

As I think about it, I realize the essence of the Conservative vs.
Liberal debate.

Conservatives have good stuff.
Liberals want good stuff.

Conservatives have earned their good stuff.
Liberals envy the stuff, but will not expend the effort.

Conservatives rightfully desire to protect the stuff they earned.
Liberals seek to obtain the Conservatives' stuff by declaring it ill
gotten.

Liberals will embark on a mission to get the Conservatives' stuff by
launching the following fallacious attacks:

* Exploited workers
* Raped the environment
* Destroyed indigenous peoples
* injured animals
* cheated on taxes
* stole from the poor
* wasted natural resources
* oppressed minorities
* was greedy
* hated (fill in blank)
* is unconstitutional

The translation of each phrase above is simply "I want your stuff, give it to me."

No, but I have seen plenty of super rich liberals.

The super rich are some of the most hard core liberals anywhere. They are liberal either because;

1. They have guilt that they have all this stuff
2. They want to be "loved" by others and the press

The funny thing is that the ultra-rich liberals want to do all these "good deeds" WITH OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY. They do not want to spend a dime of their own (they may feel guilt but they are not stupid). They also hire the best accountants to get out of paying as much tax as possible. They seem to want all these social programs but do not want to pay for them. They also put their children in private school, higher the best doctors and drive gas guzzling cars. However, for the peasants (like me and you), see what lovely social programs we gave you. You must now love us. We now have no guilt because we gave you all these wonderful things.

Yeah, I feel really bad about when I displaced all those poor Native Americans when I opened up the West. These liberals want us to feel guilty and shamed for things we didn't even do. That is a classic sign of desperation -- they can't call me on things I myself have done, so they blame me for things that other people have done before I was even born.

If I never accomplish anything noteworthy in my life, at least I can say I have my head screwed on pretty straight.

True, but liberals want intangibles also. They want to be free of the laws that that are susposed to apply to us all equally. They want special protection in law for themselves, and not available to the ordinary citizen. They want laws that allow them to steal whatever they want without limit or consequences, and finally they want laws that forbid the producers in society from stopping production of that which the liberals steal. The ultimate end of liberalism is slavery under the liberal slavemaster. They become that which they profess to detest, and that fits perfectly because liberalism is the ultimate dishonesty.

Absolutely right on! if I may enlarge on your reference to guilt, please include selfishness and violence. This is what makes them so dangerous, they are drawing on the naivete of the young and ignorant in order to push their cause. If we let them continue they will destroy this nation and plunge us into a third world status.

This is usually true, but I think it has a lot to do with getting the government to create a monopoly [or at least stiffle competition] for their endeavors. It they're not liberals, they're big government conservatives (wolves in sheep's clothing) -- just as bad.

GOD Dealt with this issue in the 10th Commandment--Thou Shalt Not Covet they neighbors . . . Maybe that is why the liberals keep trying to get the 10 Commandments banned from public places.

Liberals in general aren't angry that they have it so bad, they pissed off that so many others have it so good. Rich liberals simply like the idea of having no competition, i.e. I'll pay you not work, stay at home, in return you never get rich or stop me from recieving my corporate welfare. In a socialist state, the truely wealthy will stay rich, but no one else will ever rise to that kind of level. How much would you spend, to guarantee that no one ever competed with you?

THANKS for this. This morning my 10 year old asked me what is the difference between Republicans and Democrats and this is perfect. In the past I have just pointed out who the bad guys are and not gone farther however this explains the difference in a way that I couldn't.

Lately it sure seems that the Liberals are either filthy rich/Hollywood stars, etc. -or- lazy homeless penniless TAKERS/LOOTERS.

The Conservatives seem to mostly be the people in the middle.... Not usually the filthy rich (which I wouldn't mind being), and not the penniless/welfare TAKERS. I think there are the super rich Liberal Democrat money raisers and then there are their followers who have nothing, but do nothing to pull themselves up. They feed off each other.

We are in the middle, the Conservatives, trying to take care of our own, working hard, we want to keep more of what we earn..... But the rich Democrats use their wealth and position to put us down for being greedy for wanting to keep our hard earned money.

Republican party is the party of the Working Class
Democratic party is the party of the welfare class and the super rich airheads.

You just described the book ATLAS SHRUGGED! Have you read it? That paragraph of yours sounds just like the book. And it was written about 50 years ago, I think. It is still a good book to read today by Ayn Rand.

This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with
