"The situation has law enforcement worried, especially the actions of Ranch Rescue members, who last week scared off drug smugglers and netted 279 pounds of marijuana near the hamlet of Lochiel, on the border 65 miles southeast of Tucson. "We understand the ranchers are frustrated" with immigrants and drug smugglers crossing their lands, said Kyle Barnette, a U.S. Customs associate special agent in charge in Arizona. "However, it's not an environment that novices or amateurs should be meddling in." This makes me sick. Looks like the "Federales" are the amateurs. God Bless these patriots.

Let's see, the Government, whose Constitutional duty is to protect our borders, doesn't.
It spends too much time and money doing things the Government shuld not be doing.
Then when citizens do something about it, they get upset.
Unbelievable.

A member of the American Border Patrol, Barnett says he and his brother have assisted in the arrest of more than 2,000 illegal immigrants crossing his 22,000-acre property in Cochise County this year.Somebody has to do it. The government can not, OR WILL NOT. God Bless 'em.

I love the "anti-immigration organization" tag.
Typical Liberal spin.
It's anti-ILLEGAL Immigration!

" Barnette said. "I would suggest I could train a chimpanzee to catch 300 pounds of weed.""
So, Barnett says that he is unable to do what a chimp can do?
""Any confrontation they have ... could be deadly or dangerous," Estrada said. "
So, they agree that there needs to be armed patrols, right? Unfortunately, they don't agree, so we have the following logic:
Illegals are decent and honest people who pose no threat to our society, but to stop them from entering is dangerous.
And the following:
Armed border patrols are too much, but such patrols should be done with extreme caution as they can be dangerous.
It seems someone isn't making much sense.

Bump from the state of Washington, where Mexicans and Middle Easterners swarm up from Mexico and the loose as a goose Canadian border simultaniously.

"Looking at their Web sites ... and hearing from the folks in the border areas, they have people who are Soldier of Fortune kind of guys. It's pretty frightening."Sorry Contessa, these are just plain American citizens trying to keep the U.S. from looking like Mexico...And unlike the criminal invaders, they are doing it legally...

"
Law enforcement agencies do not appreciate the ultimatum."Well boo (bleep)ing hoo! We hire these border patrol types to do a job, and all we hear from them is that illegal infiltrators get to chase them around in our own country with gunfire.
If they can't or won't do the job, they can just flip hamburgers for a living and we'll get the job done some other way.
They need to remember just who they're working for! We don't "appreciate" their not appreciating our ultimatum, either. (/rant)

Where is it written that Americans are to give up their rights to protect their lives and property just because the local, state and fed gov't created agencies to "protect the public" then fail to do so?

Maybe these citizen border patrol people should receive deputy status?! They might FINALLY give a little backbone to the cowardly INS!

Our American ancestors did just fine without the protection of da law, in fact they were da law west of the pecos. Looks like they still are.

Bump & Index.
Sounds like the "gov't workers" are afraid of loosing their jobs.

I especially liked this part:
"The Nature Conservancy, which owns the land where Ranch Rescue confiscated the marijuana, promptly asked the group to leave after the marijuana seizure..."
Of course!
Marijuana is just another organicly produced little bit of nature's bounty.
