[history]
A satellite cell phone in one hand and a global-positioning satellite unit in the other, Glenn Spencer of the American Border Patrol poses at the group's headquarters in Sierra Vista. In the background is an antenna that connects headquarters to the Internet.

Speculation:
Soon, the federal government will spend proportionately more time and resources fighting Ranch Rescue than they do Illegal Aliens.

"The situation has law enforcement worried, especially the actions of Ranch Rescue members, who last week scared off drug smugglers and netted 279 pounds of marijuana near the hamlet of Lochiel, on the border 65 miles southeast of Tucson. "We understand the ranchers are frustrated" with immigrants and drug smugglers crossing their lands, said Kyle Barnette, a U.S. Customs associate special agent in charge in Arizona. "However, it's not an environment that novices or amateurs should be meddling in." This makes me sick. Looks like the "Federales" are the amateurs. God Bless these patriots.

Let's see, the Government, whose Constitutional duty is to protect our borders, doesn't.
It spends too much time and money doing things the Government shuld not be doing.
Then when citizens do something about it, they get upset.
Unbelievable.

Un-flipping-real...this is yellow journalism at it's best...
The author paints Glenn Spencer with the 'radical' Ranch Rescue brush... And that she lends any credence whatsoever to the Garcia witch is absolutely unforgiveable...
This rates another letter to editor!

A member of the American Border Patrol, Barnett says he and his brother have assisted in the arrest of more than 2,000 illegal immigrants crossing his 22,000-acre property in Cochise County this year.Somebody has to do it. The government can not, OR WILL NOT. God Bless 'em.

I love the "anti-immigration organization" tag.
Typical Liberal spin.
It's anti-ILLEGAL Immigration!

I am sure a lot of Americans share our sentiments for these patriots.
I live in NYC and get sickened each day. A walk outside my house notices illegals sleeping in the park across the street, illegals drinking on the corner and urinating / crapping on the sidewald. Not to mention: Nobody speaks English anymore.
Since Mr Bush won't protect us (afraid of offending his good pal Vincente Fox)these guys are doing what they feel is right.

" Barnette said. "I would suggest I could train a chimpanzee to catch 300 pounds of weed.""
So, Barnett says that he is unable to do what a chimp can do?
""Any confrontation they have ... could be deadly or dangerous," Estrada said. "
So, they agree that there needs to be armed patrols, right? Unfortunately, they don't agree, so we have the following logic:
Illegals are decent and honest people who pose no threat to our society, but to stop them from entering is dangerous.
And the following:
Armed border patrols are too much, but such patrols should be done with extreme caution as they can be dangerous.
It seems someone isn't making much sense.

these guys are doing what they feel is right And taking some pretty high-powered heat for it, too.

Bump from the state of Washington, where Mexicans and Middle Easterners swarm up from Mexico and the loose as a goose Canadian border simultaniously.

No doubt in my mind that the gov will be willing to spend far more dollars to protect these illegal invaders from American citizens than they now do trying to keep the invaders out...

"Looking at their Web sites ... and hearing from the folks in the border areas, they have people who are Soldier of Fortune kind of guys. It's pretty frightening."Sorry Contessa, these are just plain American citizens trying to keep the U.S. from looking like Mexico...And unlike the criminal invaders, they are doing it legally...
