Hey John:
I think these guys were "the evil doers" but not the evil masterminds. After the Bowie incident, the big guy split and they went on to do "stupid" $10 mil tricks. They may be "stupid" but they're not that stupid. They sacrificed themselves and that equates them to the suicide crew of 9-11.
They'll clam up just like Moussaoui and Reid and I wouldn't be surprised if they try to defend themselves. It's a suicide mission waiting to happen.
We have a piece missing by the way. How did they come up with the license plate in the first place?? The truck driver might have ID'd the vehicle at the rest stop but that's all he did. The clues from Alabama were insufficient. Someplace there's a tipster who is in "protective custody". Who??

I think they went from: Malvo brag about AL, to Malvo fingerprint, to Mohammed, to Mohammed's car, but there might be a shortcut. Press saying Malvo was shooter at Homedepot. Malvo may be the leader and yes, I think they had lots of help. 3 people are already saying, I told the cops Mohammed was up to no good. Atleast one called the FBI last summer.

Foreign terrorists would probably have done the job better (horrible thought!). But you have to realize this guy was a Black Muslim from Farrakhan's ilk!!! That makes him sloppy and greedy for money!! This is just making me sick to my stomach!!

[This adds more to the theory that accomplices WERE driving a white van at times to distract police.]
You may just be on to something there. I hope they thoroughly investigated those two.

One of the netwrok newses, I think it was FOX, reported that one night near closing time Muhammad stopped at a sub shop asking where he could get a hot dinner in the area. The sub shop was closing so he went back out into the parking lot, and when the employee went out a bit later Muhammad was still in the lot, in his car, using what looked to the employee like a laptop computer. Muhammad got out of the car, said he hoped he hadn't scared the employee, and asked if he could stay in the lot for the night since he was tired. Don't recall the rest of the report, but the laptop was what got my attention.
BTW, interesting coincidence that Nathaniel Osborne was found in Flint, MI, don't you think?

We had a brief news item here stating that Malvo may be 18, not 17.

Mohammed would have had the Anthrax vaccine during the Gulf war?? Not all did but his statement to a war buddy may be the clue...."we were guinea pigs".

How did they come up with the license plate in the first place??Malvo's bragging about the shooting led them to match the print on the letter(Malvo's) to the one left at the Alabama shooting. The note and the voice indicated a foreigner. The print was on file with the INS in Seattle (they probably had to twist some arms to get the INS to cooperate). The INS incarcerated Malvo after a custody dispute between Malvo's mother and Muhammad, leading them to Muhammad. Muhammad's picture was on file in various jurisdictions, and probably with the FBI itself (since he'd been referred to them two or three times, most recently in July of this year). Witnesses in Alabama saw both Malvo and Muhammad when they ran from the scene, and most probably picked them out of a photo lineup.
A DMV search would turn up the registration/plate number for the car registered to Muhammad -- and there may also have been some witnesses who reported a New Jersey plate on a Caprice, but since it wasn't on a white van, it was ignored....
