ok this is the theory -- the SNIPER was supposed to a white right wing gun nut... Many blacks bought that media view- so hence a black sniper is inconcievable to them

So they wondered why a BLACK Sheriff was chosen to head the task force instead of the White police heads from other counties (I think PG county eventhough its a black majority county has a white Sheriff)

Since we know that most blacks dont trust police anyway they would be more likely to trust a black one

Hence the presence of a Black sheriff, in their eyes points to a conspiracy to frame a black man since WHITE sheriff doing the exact same thing would be suspect in their eyes.

yes the logic makes no sense and is convoluted. But its the same thinking that pervades the community and states Bush "stole" the election from Gore

Nat, I think you may be right - there were witnesses, the snipers appears to have left messages here and there, and everybody must have known, before too long, that they were black. When I was discussing this with someone in law enforcement, she said that the details that came out would immediately have indicated Black Muslims/Five Percenters to her or any big city police officer.

Possibly Moose was kept there as a figurehead. That might not have been a bad decision.

But the fact that Moose at one point came out and said that the suspects were NOT black was not a good decision, because it let them slip through a number of encounters with police that might have prevented them from killing at least 5 other people (blacks among them).

I don't know why a black sniper is inconceivable - I lived through the Zebra killers in San Francisco, in the mid 1970s. They were Black Muslims who called themselves the Death Angels and shot whites from a car as they drove around the city. And then there was the black guy (Jamaican, if I recall correctly) on the LIRR train in NY who leaped up and blasted away a number of commuters a few years ago. This possibility was one of the first things that should have occurred to investigators, and I think it probably would have, if they hadn't been told immediately that the shooters were definitely "not black."

I think you're right in identifying the reason for the decision to keep Moose up there. But somebody somewhere should have told at least LE folks who they were really looking for - and if nobody really knew, they shouldn't have EXCLUDED blacks from the list. I think if I were the mother of that 13 year old black child who was shot, I'd be pretty upset right now.
