The problem is that a lot of these people were probably hired guns - hired from the Middle East - so their eternal fate would probably be of no concern to Muslims.

Their leader was found in the theatre with a bottle of alcohol, and many of the others were found with syringes (for methamphetamines) next to them.

Unfortunately, there's more to this than just the individuals who took over the theatre. They were being supported by people somewhere (wahabbis in Saudi Arabia, from what I've heard from other sources) who don't care one way or the other what happened to this bunch of useful idiots.
