Sniper suspects charged with murder: FBI searches for new material witness

ROCKVILLE, Maryland (CNN) --The two men suspected of killing 10 people and wounding three others in a three-week shooting spree were charged with six counts of murder each late Friday in Montgomery County.

Arrest warrants were issued for John Allen Williams, 41, and John Lee Malvo, 17, charging them each with first-degree murder in the six killings that took place in Montgomery County. (Read the charges against Williams) (Read the charges against Malvo)

Williams reportedly changed his name last year to John Allen Muhammad, but he has also used at least eight aliases, according to sources.

The real question is why did he leave the military with so much time in grade? Was it 15 years? Not many bail out five years from retirement. Did he get bumped out because he was a mental case or other issues? It would be interesting to know why he left after putting so much time into it?

Yeah -- I saw that one -- he probably rec'd the same service "medal" that everyone who was "in theater" during that time got -- and as for the 'expert" markmanship that the news keeps talking about -- my hubby earned expert at least a couple times during his time in the Air Force -- he was an admin. specialist/paralegal who went out to the range maybe 2 times to "practice" before his test, he had a steady hand and good eye and he would hit even the farthest targets easily

This really hacks me off, my son's God given name is John Allen Williams. We call him "Jack". He's 3 1/2 years old and the other night before the media got the cajones to start calling this guy Mohammed he overheard the TV and thought the police were after him. I wish the media would realize the indirect damage that they sometimes do. I also hope that because John Williams(my father's name) and Allen Williams(mine) are such common names that this won't stick like Lee Harvey Oswald, John Hinckley, or John Wayne Gaisey.

Luckily CNN is swimming against the tide here. John Mohammad is already about 75% stuck in the public mind I think. They're trying to reverse it though and do it ASAP so they can use "John Williams" during the trial.

I can barely remember what "dirty bomber" Jose Padilla's Muslim name is. That one's about 95% stuck in the wrong direction.

Ummm.. This is an overreaction. The report is fairly straitforward. The arrest warrents were issued in the name Williams. Let's chill.

Think about this: This killer is no more of a representation of any group than a white killer would be. Granted, the media would have unfairly indicted all conservatives and we would be outraged. Are we now suggesting that all blacks, or muslims, or some other group should be blamed for the actions of INDIVIDUALS? We should not encourage this type of group thinking. It's the way liberals see the world not conservatives.

If they had accomplices, let's let authorities find them. If Al Queda supported them, let authorities discover it. The investigation continues.
