PaulWellstone--man of the people Well, he definitely made an impact on Minnesota. About 200 feet long and 3 feet deep.

No kidding. If Brokaw can divine a link between the sniper and Dubya, why not play the "Karma" card with Wellstone?

Brutal!

I guess he was a "man of the people" for those who think that countries named "People's Republic of [fill in the blank]" actually have anything to do with the people (other than repressing them).

It is hard not to notice here in Minnesota that Don Shelby and other media elites have canonized Wellstone as a principled man of ethics, who stood up for the small guy (not counting partial-born babies), a man of passion and energy, who refused to let public opinon dictate his conscience".
A conservative with similar trates would be described as "a extreme right-wing out of the mainstream zealot, who wants to impose his views on everyone else".

I have to choke on the word "decent" to describe someone who defended partial birth abortion to the end.

Unlike some of my colleagues here, let me say a positve note about Wellstone, "may he enternally swim with his commie mentor Joe Stalin and others of that ilk in hell's burning lakes of sulpher and suffer the perpetual damnation due all those who would destroy this Republic from within." Sounds like a curse. I rather think in horror at what his judgement might have been like. But there but the Grace of God go I. Perhaps he repented. I hope so.

From the AP, 12/4/96:
"Wellstone made his remark about despising Helms shortly after winning election in 1990. Wellstone, a former college professor, earned his graduate and undergraduate degrees from the University of North Carolina, in Helms' home state."
I have no doubt that Mr. Wellstone was a very nice man, and his death and those of his his family are tragic.
But amid all the sentimentality, let's not forget that he was a committed Leftist who had no difficulty "despising" people with whom he disagreed.
If Senator Helms had died in a plane crash yesterday, would there be all the media tributes we've seen since yesterday?
We all know better than that.

So, when you are at home on DU and find hate-filled posts pointed at republicans, do you post to them calling them names and finding fault ? ??
I'm really curious as to your answer -- That way I can really know if Jesus is really your saviour, or if you are just another DU hypocrite.
