Suspects' race shocks black community

First, Vanessa Harris was happy.

Then, she was shocked.

Turning on the morning news, she was relieved to see an arrest in the sniper shootings. But the first words that came out of her mouth were, "Is he black?"

Like Harris, many blacks in the Richmond area were surprised by the details of the alleged snipers' race.

I don't think the fact that he's black is irrelevant. Blacks are taught to carry a burden of resentment by our compassionate white liberal edu establishment. If he's made to be any kind of victim, he's a victim of a cruel brainwashing by the left.

Gee they couldn't believe it simply because the media told them so. When ever a black commits a crime the race is left out of the news report , but if an (angry white male) commits a crime it is reported as such.

The fact that black people don't want to believe this leaves them open to the theory that it was a set up. Despite all the evidence, most black people thought O.J. was framed.

One might think that since Moose, a black man, led the investigation, the charges of a set up wouldn't stick. But Chris Darden, also a black man, was one of the prosecutors in the O.J. case and that made no difference.

The Nation of Islam will be looking for a way to deflect attention from themselves and what better way than to start rumors that the men were framed--perhaps by the CIA. A segment of blacks already believe the CIA was responsible for the crack epidemic.

I do too ---Mohammed has more in common with John Lindh, Jose Padilla, Reid the shoe bomber and the 19 hijackers than he does with most other blacks.

This really isn't about race. It's about a blockheaded propagandized segment of the U.S. population that refuses to accept reality.

I lived in the S.F. Bay Area during the Zebra killings and the worst atrocities of the Black Panthers. I've devoted considerable study to the Black Muslim movement. I have no illusions after that. It's not about 'targeting' or 'profiling' any particular racial segment. It's about facing the fact that people behave pretty much the same regardless of skin color. Zealots behave like zealots.

There's no essential difference between Farrakhan's Muslims and the bunch of fascist nuts in their 'compound' up in north Idaho. What's insidious is pervasive political correctness that makes it 'wrong' to see the black (or any color other than white) criminals/subversives as what they are.

Hard to believe since in terms of violent crime, Black victims almost universally have Black perpetrators

IMO the one thing that hindered the investigation and resulted in more victims was the refusal to take calls from the perps. Un-friggin-believable.
