"There's always an armchair dumbass in every crowd."

All due respect but his point is valid by SpecFor community standards.

If Special Forces troops actually shot hostages in storming the building then [on this side of the pond] you would have to account for it passed "He was in the way".

In Somalia....every single round FAST Company fired was painstakenly investigated and critiqued.

It is good science and helps in training.

OK, I understand where you are coming from, but now you need to understand where most of us are coming from. 2 hours ago it looked very likely that most of the hostages would die in an eventual terroristic suicide. Reports of bombs wired to terrorists, hostages, and mines throughout the building. A little over an hour ago the report came out(after the report of SF going into the building) that the building had been taken over and now controlled by SF. 36 of 50 terrorists dead, several in custody, and a few unaccounted for, but THE SHOOTING HAD STOPPED.

To us that is a relative victory, the fact that there are any survivors, and now it looks like many, and the crisis portion was over. I understand your inside evaluation, but don't be surprised if some of us get ticked at your pissing all over relatively good news. As to that other idiots post, given that I posted after the building had been reported secured, and the shooting ended, his post was baloney.

Critique tomorrow.

What we're looking at tonight is a building that was NOT collapsed, killing hundreds of hostages. That is what the vermin wanted and they were denied. They lost and that is a good thing.

Could it have been executed more perfectly? Perhaps. But that is always *always* going to be the case. Tonight we grieve for the losses but more than that we celebrate for the hundreds of lives that were saved by a quick and decisive action by some heroes whos names we'll never know.

This was a victory. Leave the armchair stuff to the textbooks for a while, OK?

I have to admit... I'm another cold warrior that sits in amazement rooting for a former enemy that is now an ally. But even when I was hunting the Soviet navy in those old days we respected them as worthy adversaries. I have zero respect for the vermin that they (and we) now hunt.
