G-d Bless America and all it's Patriotic Citizens!
Its interesting to find out how, in retrospect, the things that seemed silly or strange had valid reasons. For example, the whole affair when he got out and said that they received his communication but could not make out what was said sounded like something out of a bad mobile phone commercial. In reality, it turns out that Muhammad had left a message on a priest's answering machine that was unintelligible.
And the "call us at the number you gave us" turned out to be similar, a number of a third party Muhammed was trying to use as a go-between.
It turns out that Muhammed ended up giving up clues to his identity out of frustration during the back-and-forth that some of the media experts were saying that Moose and company should not have been having.
I think Moose did a kick-ass job. (But someone tell him wiv is pronounced "with")
EARLIER CHANCES
Authorities appear to have missed earlier chance to apprehend Muhammad.
In the predawn hours of Oct. 8, the day after a 13-year-old boy was wounded in Bowie, Md., Baltimore police approached the Caprice and found Muhammad sleeping. The car was parked in a lot near an on-ramp to Interstate 83.
Muhammad was not held, but his name and the vehicle were put into a police database, sources told the Washington Post.
Everyone was looking for a white car with white people, said a police source, according to the Post. Throughout the investigation police emphasized that several witnesses had seen white utility vans near some crime scenes.
And on Oct. 3, after a fatal shooting at night in Washington, D.C., a Caprice was seen leaving the scene with its lights off.
When asked about the Caprice two weeks ago, Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose re-emphasized the white vans, saying theres not a big push for public feedback about the Caprice.
--------
Thanks for nothing, Moose. I withheld judgement until the investigation was over. You could have had the perp in your grasp three times, and let him go each time, because of your flawed profiling.
No doubt on that...everyone working together helped bring this case together rather quickly. Moose did a great job under pressure! Course a lot of racist will never admit that...and will continue to mock him. Moose deserves recognition for the part he played...the man was under tremedous pressure. He held up just fine!
The white van was from witnesses... Wasn't it just one report that said a maroon caprise? I guess he got some spray cans cuz it's now blue isn't it?
It was the Profilers on all the news channels who were convinced it couldn't be black guys.
Uh, the color was pretty close, and there ain't that many 1990 Caprices driving around. That model should have been on a check list.
It was the Profilers on all the news channels who were convinced it couldn't be black guys.
Well, apparently someone convinced the police as well. Once again, from the article:
Everyone was looking for a white car with white people, said a police source
Police source. Repeat after me - police source. Once again, I withheld judgement about the investigation until I saw this. And then I went through the roof. I really don't care to make this a racial issue - instead, the cops allowed PC notions to direct the investigation, quite possibly at the cost of several lives - just as it seems that ethnic sensitivities bottlenecked information regarding some of the 9/11 plotters. That is what needs to change.
