SARAH BRADY BEGGING FOR MONEY ON THE BACKS OF SNIPER VICTIMS

BRADY UNEDUCATED ABOUT "BALLISTICS FINGERPRINTING"

In a press release dated today, October 24, 2002, Sarah Brady, erroneously states, "If one existed (a national ballistics database), the police hunting for the sniper would have been able to trace the murder weapon days ago.and at least nine live might have been saved."

Brady, the head of the group formerly know as Handgun Control, Inc, is either ignorant of the facts, or is just flat out ignoring the facts. Brady is asking for backdoor gun registration. This becomes very apparent when she calls for the creation of a national ballistics database to keep a record of the "fingerprint" of every gun manufactured. She then states that, "Police would be able to match the ballistics evidence recovered from a crime scene to an individual gun-AND ITS PURCHASER." Sounds like a registration scheme to me!

Brady then uses the worn out, lame excuse that the NRA is controlling Congress and the Bush Administration, and blatantly asks for "an emergency contribution" because they want to force Congress into action. What Brady fails to mention is that Congress will be recessing tomorrow and will not be returning until after the November elections!

Here are the facts, according to the National Sport Shooting Foundation-

FACT- Maryland introduced its own ballistic imaging system in 2000. Every new handgun that is sold in the state must be accompanied by spent shell casings for input into the imaging network. According to Maryland budget figures, approximately $5 million has been spent on the system. According to Maryland law enforcement officials, it contains over 11,000 imaged cartridges, has been queried a total of 155 times and has not been responsible for solving any crimes. In New York, there have been thousands of cartridges entered into their database and, according to reports, no traces have resulted in criminal prosecutions.

FACT-There are an estimated 260 million firearms in private hands. It would be virtually impossible to retrieve these firearms for ballistics documentation without violating the constitutional rights of millions of law abiding firearms owners.

FACT-The federal government has worked for nearly 10 years on developing an imaging network. The National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN), administered by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (BATF), provides federal, state, and local law enforcement officials with critical ballistics information on crimes committed with a firearm.

FACT-The unique marks that can identify a particular bullet or shell casing change due to a number of environmental and use factors. Barrels and operating parts of firearms change with use, wear and tear over time. Moreover, a person can, within minutes, use a file to scratch marks in a barrel or breech face, or replace a firing pin, extractor, and barrel thereby giving a firearm a completely new ballistic identity.

FACT-A recent study completed by the California Department of Forensic Services on creating a statewide ballistic imaging network stated that: When applying this technology to the concept of mass sampling of manufactured firearms, a huge inventory of potential candidates will be generated for manual review. This study indicates that this number of candidate cases will be so large as to be impractical and will likely create logistic complications so great that they can not be effectively addressed. The study pointed out that when expanding the database of spent shell casings, the system will generate so many hits that could be potential matches, it would not be of any use to forensic examiners.

So, when you take into consideration the facts stated above, it seems blatantly obvious that Brady is using the deaths of innocent people merely to pimp for more money for her organization. Misleading people on the entire ballistics issue is not only irresponsible, but immoral.

If every FReeper sent 3 cents by credit card this would put them out of business ....after all the Visa/Mastercard/FedEx charges were totalled up......just a random thought for discussion purposes only....

I'd love to be able to ask Sarah Brady why she didn't care about gun control when black were killing each other in the streets of DC. Of course it would be best in a room full of liberal sheep. Deep down she is like hillary. the little people don't matter. Actually to Hillary, no one else matters.

Sarah Brady is the poster child for reform of the US nonprofit laws. She plays a shell and pea game with the various corporations she has control of. Just like the National Council of Women's Organizations do.

Sarah Brady, Jesse Jackson, many of the "greens" groups, PETA, ADL, Sharpton, Larry Klayman, etc. All bums panhandling on the street. Some racking on millions and giving nothing back but noise.

Hey, maybe this will brighten your day. I wrote this late last night, then I was doing the dishes and thinking about this press release. I realized that I had unknowingly made a "sexual" link with my headline and the last paragraph of the press release. I basically called Sarah a "pimp" at the end, and I stated that she was begging for money on the BACKS of the sniper victims. Subtle, but it's there.

Done! Thank you. Does anyone have the URL for anything like Mail Blaster? The one I used to use was taken off the web a while back.

Please go ahead and e-mail Brit Hume. He is wonderful, and responsive.

I mailed Special@foxnews.com and Brit himself replied--quite graciously. He is a gentleman, humorous, and smart as hell.

"Funny, but that has never been a issue for these kind of folks before, so why should it suddenly become an issue for them now?"

My cynicism runs even deeper. I have even wondered if HCI, aka the Brady Center, and the Violence Policy Center would actually hire someone to commit a bunch of killings. Why? All of the hysteria would give them an excuse to start another fund raising campaign.

but if i had to live with someone like her, i would shoot myself again and make it count this time!!!!!

LOL...Reminds me of a story attributed to Winston Churchill. At a social gathering, a left-leaning woman who despised Churchill's political views, approached him and said: "Sir, if I were your wife I would put poison in your tea." To which Churchill calmly responded: "Ma'am, if you were my wife, I would drink it."

"don't you just feel sorry for pore ole jim...being disabled as he is and can't just get in his car and drive away from this crazy woman....i'll bet he wishes everyday that the guy would have had better aim or a different target (her)...i know that isn't nice, but if i had to live with someone like her, i would shoot myself again and make it count this time!!!!!"

I know Sarah Brady is going to complain about how Hinckley left Jim a mentally defective. However, one cannot help but ask if he wasn't mentally defective before that date in 1981? After all, he married Sarah.

I'd like to ask her how she got out of a federal "strawman sales" charge for buying that scoped Remington 700 "sniper rifle" for her son.

that is true if the weapon was in the hands of the original purchaser, and law enforcement was able to locate that individual. In one word ... BULLSH*T
