In my haste to come in and be one of the first to congratulate Petuniasevan on being the FRiday FReeper in the spotlight, I must confess, I have only skimmed over this excellent and "out of this world" tribute you have done for her. To all: by all means ask questions, and be sure to visit the APOD. The APOD links listed in the above profile are a nice sample. Don't worry if you're a "newbie" at astronomy, no question is too "dumb" to ask.

As well as my amateur self, there are several other amateurs and professional astronomers who post on the APOD, such as RightWhale, RadioAstronomer, Graewoulf, sleavelessinseattle...

We try to learn and have a bit of fun at the same time, so don't be surprised to see some puns and joking going on at times.

You are very welcome. It is a pleasure to highlight you and the Astonomy Picture of the Day thread today. We at the Finest know what it involves in posting a daily thread on FR...It's a lot of fun.....but........

I am not science oriented at all but I loved reading some of your threads. And one comment by a poster stuck with me....I am paraphrasing a bit but this poster said something like..."Thanks for posting the Astonomy Picture of the Day. I do not often post on this thread but it is always my last stop on FR at night."

I am afraid I am about to turn into a pumpkin. I will return tomorrow. In the meantime, here is some coffee and bagels for late-nighters and early risers.

What a nice surprise to wake up to! I have been on the APOD ping list for quite some time and enjoy the wonderful photos and information that petuniasevan provides! As a teenager, I had a telescope and hung on to it in storage up until 4 years ago when my storage bin was broken into and it was stolen. :-(

I LOVE smileys! I have a very paltry collection compared to you, petuniasevan. I started looking through yours and decided that would be a treat for later when I get home....otherwise I'll get into all kinds of trouble here at work!! LOL!
