To the Republicans, none. We would've been called racist, hateful, whatever if we make an issue that he was black/muslim.
To the Democrats, it makes all the difference in the world. They were going to launch a massive PR election campaign on the sniper if he turned out to be white and right-wing. They would have made this a central issue in all the networks and all the political advertisements. They are scumbags of the lowest kind.
If they'd left the race of sniper & his politics alone, we'd just all be collectively breathing a sigh of relief (Republican or Democrat) that he was caught. But, no, the Democrats FORCED this into the political scene--they are to blame for all this celebration on FR and for all the bitching on DU.
