"I hadn't thought of it, but if they suspected the killers were black (and Muslims, too), then having Chief Moose out front would help tamp down any anger from any communities directed against 'the Man' picking on one of 'their own'."I don't know about that...how many of the victims were black? About half?
Throughout this case I've said the only pattern is a total LACK of a pattern...except that the victims were American citizens, at least naturalized American citizens.

That's all that mattered. They were killing Americans. Simple. IMO, this isn't about race, it's about religion. Any moderate Muslim voices (and there are some) have long ago been silenced. They lost the microphone. Now, they are as frightened, maybe more so, as we are. These radical muslims don't care about skin color, IMO. They care if they can use Americans, if not, they'll kill us. Oh well, I'm preaching to the choir. I'm sorry.:)

I agree. I just thought Joe brought up an interesting tactical question.
My only question was as the murders spread out of Maryland and Chief Moose--who I did not have problems with--remained as the "voice" of the investigation.
God Bless all of those victims and their families.
