Hold on, everybody. While it is obvious that Muslim anti-American sentiments were Mohammed's motivation, and his recent training may have come from a Jihad-camp, we need to consider the possibility that no one else may have been involved in these attacks.

Does anyone have any proof that any special intelligence was used in the DC attacks? What do we know?

He knew how to shoot (big deal, he was trained, dummies can be trained to shoot). He researched his egress from each attack and got out of there swiftly (does that really take much IQ?).

Now, stacked on the DUMB side, he left those stupid calling cards with possible scent or handwriting clues. He started leaving long, illiterate notes with way too much info on them. He called the sniper hotlines multiple times and was out of control with anger. He talked way too much with the cops. He asks for $10 mil to go to a domestic account. The account is from a CREDIT CARD STOLEN AT A MURDER/ROBBERY in which his son's fingerprints were evidence (almost a Darwin award winner).

It looks to me like a TOTAL IDIOT with some training can pull off a ghastly terror. Prove me wrong; give me the evidence of a brain involved here.

Below really bothers me about Police in this case

Case could have been solved long ago with composite released of Burgandy Chevy Caprice during the first shootings. IMO.....Took 2 hours to find the caprice after the info got out took public.

Evidently the Burgundy Chevy Caprice has been looked for Since the first shootings...and was on the Radar all along..***Where were the graphic composites of burgundy Caprice?***

FLIT'S SNIPER PREDICTION

At present, the authorities in D.C. are looking for a white cube van, a white panel van, and a burgundy Chevy Caprice. My money's on the Caprice. White vans, because it's the most common delivery truck colour, are near-ubiquitous on city highways. Drive the four-lanes around Toronto, and there's rarely a five minute stretch where something white and van-like isn't speeding away from you in some direction. No, wait, I'll make another prediction. The engagement range of the sniper, when all is said and done, will be found to vary between 75-200m. Nothing farther. (For reference, Lee Oswald hit Jack Kennedy with his final shot at 80m.) All this talk about a "sniper subculture" (which anyone who's played first-person shooter computer games in the last three years must just find unfathomable) and weapons that are accurate past 400m will only obscure the fact that this guy is killing with a cheap, military-grade semi-auto .223 with a scope, from moderate range.

On the face of all this he does seem to be the leading candidate for Darwin Award accolades, doesn't he? But I have serious doubts about this entire scenario.

For a couple of weeks, he's acted with total impunity. He's killed, showed an amazing amount of skill and stealth. He's pretty much done what he wanted to do, the guy was almost like smoke. Suddenly, he started getting stupid and sloppy? Hell he might as well have hung a sign around his neck advertising the fact that he's the guy. I really have a concern about this.

I realize conventional wisdom would say he just got very arrogant about his success and it gave him a false sense of empowerment to do whatever he wanted. Sorry, but I don't buy this at all. It's clear he's had professional training and he's good at what he was doing. People like that just don't turn stupid overnight.

I agree with everything in that post. WHY DOES EVERYONE INSIST ON LEAPING TO CONCLUSIONS WHEN THERE IS NO EVIDENCE POINTING THAT WAY?!?! Y'all are starting to sound like Jim Garrison on crack. ;-) I'm not saying it's NOT linked; I'm just saying: Show me the evidence -- the non-CIRCUMSTANTIAL evidence...no more vague interpretations of his duck & noose thing...show me hard evidence this is linked, and I'll say yes, it's linked. Until then, NONE OF US ARE QUALIFIED (unless any of you are currently on the Joint Task Force) to say anything definitive about this; it's all total speculation.

Could be; could be not. The evidence I see points towards two dumb, Muslim-convert terrorist-sympathizers, at best. The hard evidence. So for now I *lean* towards that but I remain open towards anything else -- hell, it could be Castro infiltrating the country, how do you know it ain't that? Or space aliens? Or the second shooter from the grassy knoll back to kick some butt? The mafia? Jimmy Hoffa's ghost...? :-)
