They are hauling off a big tree trunk. There may be bullet fragments in the tree.

If anyone sees an update, name or picture of this marksman, please ping me?

The Associated Press

P A R I S, Oct. 21 — France has alerted Interpol about a French army deserter who is known as a marksman and is missing in North America. A Defense Ministry spokesman said there was speculation of a link to the investigation into the Washington-area sniper.

The 25-year-old second lieutenant, who was not identified, did not return to class in September at the elite military school, Saint-Cyr Coetquidan in Brittany, in western France, after going on vacation in August, officials said.

... The deserter was given permission for an August trip to the United States and Canada, said Bureau. Police sources said he had planned a trip to Chicago.

RTL radio reported the deserter was of Yugoslav origin, but Bureau could not confirm that, saying that he had to be a French citizen to attend the military school.

After the missing officer never showed up for school in September, the gendarmerie, a force under the Defense Ministry, sent a note last week to the Interior Ministry. Interpol was then contacted, said Bureau.

home was broken into

The card came from this home, and I'll bet anything a gun was stolen in the break-in so they are looking for bullet fragments to see if it is the gun that is currently being used by the sniper.

Oh, Why not? It's near Seattle after all. It's the new Environmentalists movement, incarcerate, don't cut 'em down!

Oct. 19th FORT LEWIS SOLDIER ARRESTED....RELATED?...Media saying no arrest to be made...Because this guy is already in custody?....LINK

Kudos to South Sound police officers who made a quick arrest in the case of the Interstate 5 shooter. Police arrested a 22-year-old Fort Lewis soldier in connection with a number of shooting incidents in the region. The soldier is accused of firing a 20-gauge shotgun at a motorist driving south on I-5 between Grand Mound and Centralia. He is also suspected in a couple of other shooting incidents, including one at a Hawks Prairie roundabout where a motorist was injured. Contrast the soldier's quick arrest with the horror that grips residents living in and around the nation's capital, where a sniper has shot and killed several individuals -- while they were mowing the lawn, sitting on a bench, pumping gas. Residents are understandably in a panic, altering their daily routines in an effort to escape the sniper's bullet
