I quit for a year once cold turkey. I remember it well enough to know that I could not type out lots of high quality C++ code in that state. Thats not mentioning biting the head off any living creature that approaches me.

It was easier for me to kick booze and recreational drugs (oops, I just said it-I used to party) than kicking nicotine.
