Got my vote by mail absentee ballot today. Here's how I voted on the Statewide Candidates and Issues. Florida FREEPers, especially those who haven't had a chance to study the ballot, you may want to peruse my votes and reasonings.
Governor: Jeb Bush
Attorney General: Charlie Crist
Commissioner of Agriculture: Charles Bronson
Supreme Court: Should Anstead be retained in Office? NO.
Supreme Court: Should Wells be retained in Office NO.
Explanation: The above choices represent the Republican candidates, tax cutters and conservatives. The "no" votes will contribute to a removal of two Florida Supreme Court "justices" who decided Al Gore's attempt to steal the election was more important than the will of the people. VOTING TO REMOVE THESE SUPREME COURT JUSTICES IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT VOTES I'VE EVER CAST.
No. 1 Constitutional Amendment
YES
Explanation: Re-affirms the death penalty is constitutional. This re-words the Constitution to match the U.S. Constitution for "cruel and unusual punishment". The Florida Kangaroo Supreme Court got hung up language, so this is a fix to please these arrogant jurists. (Remember to vote against Anstead and Wells!)
No. 2 Constitutional Amendment
YES
Explanation: This provides for an ECONOMIC IMPACT statement for every hare-brained amendment the liberals want to add to the Constitution. Maybe if the voters know how much the liberals are costing them, they'll vote no on more amendments.
No. 3 Constitutional Amendment
NO.
Explanation: This appears to add powers to the state government that rightfully belong to the people of Miami-Dade county. A yes vote appears to take away power from the local citizens.
No. 4 Constitutional Amendment
NO.
Explanation: This requires a 2/3 vote of both houses of the legislature to enact exemptions of records from public record. Appears to me to be an attempt by the weak Democrats to give their party more "umph" in the legislature. A majority vote should be sufficient to close some records.
No. 5 Constitutional Amendment
REMOVED FROM THE BALLOT.
No. 6 Constitutional Amendment
NO.
Explanation: Anti-smoking idiots trying to shove their agenda down the throats of restaurant and bar owners. Saying "yes" to this means the government tells bars no one can smoke in their establishment. Stupidity at its finest.
No. 7 Constitutional Amendment
YES.
Explanation: Provides for counties in Florida to allow for TAX BREAKS for those who build living quarters for elderly parents or grandparents. A tax break is a tax break. Of course they should be across the board, but let us take what we can get, right?
Of course there are local issues and judges in every jurisdiction. I generally vote NO on the judges--but this isn't a hard and fast rule. I did a GOOGLE search on the names of the candidates, and got enough info to make a decision.

Nice voting!
But what happened to the incredibly stupid 19-billion dollar classroom size amendment?
Also, I am considering voting to retain Wells. He was the one who wrote that scathing rebuttal on the second round and that is a mitigating factor. Actually, his clerks probably wrote it and he was swayed too easily to do something stupid by the liberal majority on the court - dump him too.

ADDENDUM!
More amendments I left off in the main post:
No. 8 Constitutional Amendment
NO.
Explanation: This idiocy puts a Universal Pre-Kindergarten education program on the backs of the taxpayers. Just another attempt to get kids out of the hands of the parents and into the arms of the socialists in the teachers' union--and in some cases, the molestors in the schools.
No. 9 Constitutional Amendment
NO.
Explanation: Tries to make classroom size a Constitutional issue. Local control isn't enough for the teacher's unions: they now want the state to dictate class size. Ridiculous.
No. 10 Constitutional Amendment
NO.
Explanation: Granting Constitutional rights to pregnant pigs? I'm not kidding--that is what this amendment does. The heigth of stupidity.
No. 11 Constitutional Amendment
NO.
Explanation: Looks good on the surface: a local board of trustees with each state university. But in my opinion it adds another level of government we don't need. The state universities should be run by the state. We don't need another bureaucratic level to work through.

Thanks for the thread. I am going to go vote in advance, since I will be out of town on Election Day. I had wondered about some of the issues that were being voted on, since the wording on some of them is rather suspect.
I'm not so sure about the opposition to #11, seems to me that even though its another layer, it does give some local control, and I am generally for that.. Guess I'll research this some more.

Completely agree with you. The moment I heard these goons were on the ballot I knew I had to get everyone I know and their mothers out to vote NO! on these 2.
Speaking of which, is there any kind of effort underway to give these 2 the boot?

Thanks for the info. I think my ballot is going to look a lot like yours!
