Real women get past the delusions and recognize reality when it's in their faces.
There is no Prince Charming.
There is no Knight in Shining Armor on his way to rescue a distressed damsel.
We're on our own.

For those of us who married and chose to raise a family instead of "having it all" including a career, the rewards are of the heart. The risks are best not considered.

Despite being left alone (after taking care of a very ill husband for a couple of years) to raise our four sons without life insurance or a house or a career of my own, I am glad I took the risk of marrying and having a family. I did the right thing and refuse to regret it despite my difficult circumstances now.
But I do not appreciate the prejudice that causes bitter men to think of me as a "single mom" living a wanton, blood-sucking life of greedy demands and that I'm burdening them with my fanciful and selfish fantasy life.
Talk about delusions......

Val, who should have first claim and priority on a wife's time and energy? Her children or her second husband?

Good for you Val, my mom raised two boys by herself with no help. It's tough.
