Freep Gray "Show me the Money" Davis Outside "Town Hall" in Palo Alto Tonight!
Posted on 10/22/2002 9:05:50 AM PDT by Mediaqueen
Wanted a separate thread because I know this Freep is "happening".... I know of several Simon volunteers, including a couple of very fun Latino leaders who will be there! How many Freepers will have their voice heard outside:
Davis Town Hall Meeting Tuesday, October 22nd Gather at 6:30 PM - Davis' "Town Hall" begins at 7 Hyatt Rickeys Hotel 4219 El Camino Real (near Charleston) Palo Alto, CA
For everyone who has wanted to know what they can do to keep Gray "Show me the Money" Davis out of Sacramento, try to make time to be outside the following with as big a "For Sale" sign as you can muster.

Simon is cool. Davis is garbage. Good luck, Californians!
Here, we're hoping that Republican Kevin Mannix beats Democrat Ted Kulongoski for the Oregon Governorship.

Hopefully, all the local news stations will be there. I'll be watching later as many of the newscasts as I can stomach.
I don;t know if many anti-war or democRats will show being as it is near Stanford. Stanford is OK these days, isn't it(?), unlike BeZerkley!
May the best sidewalk be the one you guys grab!
God Bless You All , Have Fun and Be Safe!!!

Norm, have you heard about any events for this weekend around LA?
D
To: daviddennis
No. I would think we are in for a cat and mouse game with Davi$ as he heads back to the bunker and hides under Gary's South's and Bill Lockyer's skirts. Simon will probably continue to be all over the place. I'll sure be posting any info I get. Unfortunately, I can't keep up with Simon so far. If folks know of events for either, shoot it to me. Run and hide may be GraYout's plan especially if and when the Nathanson letter drops.

The Page Mill exit is the best to take of 280?
To: nickcarraway
At this time of day, should be OK.. No guarantees ;-). Good Luck and Thanks!

Thanks for the ping and reminder to everyone about Saturday!

Quit it, you're making me homesick. I lived on Page Mill and I watched them build the 280.

Quick FReep Report:
There were about 30 anti-Davis protesters, including quite a large group of Latinos from San Francisco who did a great, enthusiastic job with their "Davis is a Pimp!" signs and chants. I believe some of them were Democrats fed up with the way the state (and especially education) has gone downhill under the corruption of Davis and the ultra-liberalism of the Dem legislature. Every wave of cars coming by the Hyatt had several honking in approval, thumbs up, etc.
We were, however, outnumbered by 40-50 people from IUPAT (International Union of Painters and Allied Trades). They were clearly there under a union-sponsored action: they had to sign in, presumably to get paid or get other compensation/bennies.
While there was a lot of jockeying to outdo and cover up each other's signs and chants, it stayed civilized. A few of the IUPAT people tried to stir up some action, but our group's comebacks to these attempts to goad us generally shut them up.
Grayout Davis himself of course avoided the ruckus and apparently snuck into the Hyatt complex via a back entrance. But we got a lot of people's attention, and it was good to see a group of people who would be expected to genetically vote for Davis, be so solidly in the Bill Simon camp.

I was there!
Didja see me in my Gray Davis (a.k.a., Beavis mask) with my large yellow & black FOR SALE sign?
To: Mediaqueen
CCC.... let me know if you're going....
OK, I'm going...
er...
I was there!
Keep an eye out for KRON4 and the San Jose Mercury News reports...if we make the cut. KPIX5 was also there.
To: NormsRevenge
Start with KRON-4 at 9pm. I was told they were there (it was hard to see while wearing the Beavis/Gray Davis mask without my glasses.

And of course they all punched out at the same time to either go home or go inside to kiss GrayOut's brass ring.

WILL DO! Have Channel 4 on now...will run a tape. Should we take bets that some editors/producers have a hard time remembering to tell the WHOLE story tonight? Channel 5 airs at 11. I couldn't be there both because of professional and personal reasons....two strikes against it. But I like to think of myself as the instigator...
THANKS for getting out there CCC & I.C.!

ChronWatch was represented. Your friend Donna was there too. I'll try to do a more detailed report later.
To: CounterCounterCulture
Certainly saw you there! - had not realized the Davis-Beavis resemblance before but it's definitely there. I was the guy in the light colored bidness suit with the large black & white DUMP DAVIS sign.
