Look at Jerry Brown in 1992. He came within a whisker of the nomination over Clinton, running on a 12% flat tax.
We should look upon this as a favorable development that will hopefully push Bush to the Right.

Joe is shrewd but he's telling us something also.
The dems will lose the senate majority and Republicans will retain the house.
He's cutting loose from the pack and to the right of Gore, Kerry and Edwards.
He's a player but not DNC presidential timber.

Bush is so far left that this is not necessarily a surprise. The self proclaimed conservatives who are more realistically dedicated leftist Republican manipulators pulling the party inexorably toward socialism and duping the party majority can be uncovered by actions like these.
I figure he's doing the US a favor. If the party of John Kennedy realizes that his stand was largely to the right of the current Republican party on many issues we could have a change in the national voting pattern. May God grant it.
