Speaking of "guys in blue" what if this sniper is an active cop? He could do the shooting, and then just immediately join in the search! I hope someone is working on that angle... Yah! That's angle's so obvious you would certainly hope are working the LEO angle, but maybe not. LEO's are notorious for protecting their own. They were looking at military personnel though so you would hope to Hell they are looking at themselves.
Only a LEO or a woman could get through all of those roadblocks on so many different occassions. IMHO.

That assumes that the murderer is going through a roadblock...what about going around it...what about the bicycle theory? Traveling to a predetermined pick up point where the bike is stashed in a van or truck...
