The Los Angeles Times and Richmond Times-Dispatch reported that a note left at the last shooting contained a threat directed toward schools, which may have led authorities to cancel classes in the Richmond area.

The Los Angeles Times also reported Tuesday that unidentified federal agents said the letter was "very lengthy" and poorly worded, bordering on broken English.

Thanks for the ping about the schoolchildren. I really shouldn't be FReeping today, so I'll try to stay away from my keyboard as much as possible.

I heard several conflicting "expert opinions" about what a good shot he/they would or wouldn't have to be. I'm no expert, so I'm not sure who to believe.

However, I've made up my mind that we have 2 or more rogue Rambos on our hands. Not because of the shooting expertise, but because of the way they've been able to escape each and every time, even today, and even knowing the drones are up there.

I doubt anybody without military training (that includes terrorist groups and militia) would be able to do it for so long. I keep an open mind as to the perps religion, race, color skin or agenda is, but it looks more and more like they work for or are hired by some organized terrorist group (islamic, leftist, homegrown, neo-nazi or whatever).

As for the ransom, if true, it would just confirm my suspicion. They're obviously confident they can get away with it. How could they possibly think that unless they're part of a network? They'd have to be NUTS, and as of today, I don't believe anybody just plain nuts could've done what they've done.
