We don't live in the area, but we quit Halloween years ago--under normal circumstances, putting kids out on the streets after dark to take candy from who-knows-who is not what we consider a "healthy" practice. I know many kids look forward to it, but there are alternatives.

So did we. Usually we buy candy and hide it all over the apartment. Then we turn the kids loose with buckets to go find the candy.

GOOD idea mhking! I like it! So many parents drive their kids from house to house and it just puts more cars on the Trick or Treat path....last time we took the grandson out (a few years ago), I saw a very unhealthy mix of small kids on foot and cars all over, backing up and/or turning around in driveways, in the dark...NOT GOOD.
