Some of us (rolling eyes heavenward while feigning innocent expression) have installed a speaker in our kitchen so we don't miss a WORD while preparing food or fetching food from the microwave.

Some just don't understand news addiction.

"Some of us" have considered installing a speaker out on the deck........LOL. I can SEE the TV from there, I just cannot hear it!

Maybe some kind soul will come along and tell me what kind to buy. :-)

LOL! My mom (76 years-old) has two TVs and two radios in the living room as well as two TVs and two radios in the kitchen. In all she has EIGHT TVs. I come by my addiction genetically. :-)

What a GREAT idea. :)I have a little black and white in the kitchen, but it just doesn't seem as effective as color sets. :) The speakers are a great idea.

This is funny now, but at the time I could have given myself a heart attack. The Saturday after 9/11 I was doing my general housecleaning with every TV on in the house on a cable news channel. I happen to be in the kitchen (where there was no tv) and heard this real loud beeping noise. I ran to see what was going on and the news was showing the part of 9/11 when the towers had fell and it was pitch black. That part I had not viewed previously. I got so upset I crabbed the phone and tried to call my son who is in the millitary and was so nervous I could not dial the number properly. Then the rerun ended, I collasped on the couch and felt so foolish. But, it gave me an insight of what my reactions would be. Geez, I found out I needed to get a grip.
