Good for Moose and you are incorrect to say he "did not intend to" use the word "people".
Did you see the news conference, evidently not. You are incorrect.
To: TexKat
Are they still anticipating another Moose conference?
To: Former
good points, each one.
welcome to FR !

It just doesn't make sense. Many things that are going on, I find puzzling. Take for instance, the Islamic guy who was caught with the knife (I believe it was a knife) imbedded in the soap? In the past year, think of all the missing trucks, missing crop dusters, guys caught with weird things going onto airplanes, Arab men seen scoping out what looks like targets. Lots of loose ends that don't seem to tie into anywhere. I don't think trying to psyche us out is out of the realm of possibility.

This may not be referring to kids. If this is an Islamic Jihad thing, the note could have been referring to "children of the Christian God" or some such phrase which would simply mean everyone in the area. Good try, but WRONG. Note to parents in Sniperville/Nightmareland: We weren't told, but principals of schools, law enforcement and government officials were. In cryptic terms, the message was getting out, forcing Moose to come clean with the public. We mothers have our way of finding these things out and the word was spreading and being cryptically verified along the way... Believe it.

The "French" guy was from Yugoslavia and could easily be a muslim terrorists. He was NOT French he was just in their military.

"has some guy on saying that if it weren't for television, maybe this would not be happening. "
Apparently it isn't quite bad enough to keep him away from TV cameras. LOL

My husband is going out to a meeting...he just said, "Do you want me to call you and remind you to feed the kids?" LOL
To: valleygal
LMAO. Truth hurts thought doesn't it.

My husband is going out to a meeting...he just said, "Do you want me to call you and remind you to feed the kids?" LOLLOL!
When I get engrossed on the computer (whether work or play), I'll sometimes get a phone call on the business line from my wife upstairs on the home line to inform me, "Dinner is ready!"

SOMEONE, TAKE CONTROL OF THIS SITUATION ...AS SOON AS POSSIBLE !!! Bush should persuade Rudy Giuliani to agree to become Secretary (or Director?) of Homeland Security, and then call Congress into special session to pass the homeland security bill.
To: Letitring
Sure I'll try to find it. :)

AMEN!

I'm not really suggesting we do all that now - but if we have to we can and will.
We just have to remember that our stance has been - no negotiation with terrorists. The LEO's are walking a very fine line in getting this resolved the best they can and protecting citizens. They may appear to give him what he wants to prevent another death - yet - we all know what the end result will be.
Again, there is no way we can judge with the little info we get. We can't say they are caving to his demands because we don't know the demands. And again, remember - each time we are saying this and that - the next day, we find that things were a lot worse than we thought and then we understand their actions.
This is not just Chief Moose and local authorities handling a terrorist attack - this is handled by the feds with the LEO's as the front men to calm the public, contact the sniper and defuse the press. Everything they do is screened and rescreened to further the best outcome.
Maybe many do not have faith in the authorities to be able to handle this - but I do.

My husband is going out to a meetingA meeting?!!!
What kind of meeting?
Is it a FR anonymous meeting???
Where is it? I need to go. :)
To: aristeides
Ofcourse they'd have to admit that this could be terrorism. Seems we are still a loooong ways froom there yet. I think they are still scanning the serial killer database preying to find a similarity somewhere, anywhere.

Brilliant. How could the Congress refuse?
Dubya, its time for hardball.
P.S> They should release the entire letter, the full name, picture and bio of this runaway sniper from the French Army.
To: Neenah
I am sick of the PC crowd too. This man does NOT exude strength...face it...and SOMEONE, TAKE CONTROL OF THIS SITUATION ...AS SOON AS POSSIBLE !!! You need to address that to perhaps Ashcroft or Rumsfeld or whoever. The subject here is not Moose, it is the survival of American citizens and our children. When one can see no further than Moose here, I think they have a tunnel vision problem. On Saturday night there was a nice talking, very articulate LE guy that led the news conference along with Sheriff Stuart Cook in Hanover County, but it did not stop anything.
To: poppyseed
Your post 2040 is correct. LEOs weren't the only ones told however.
