The wife of a friend of mine overheard Colonel Massengill, Superintendent of the Virginia State Police at lunch today loudly complaining that Moose overplayed this hand.

He was not supposed to release any information concerning the note, even the reference to the phone number. VSP and Henrico PD had the phone staked out all night, and were hoping to catch this guy, but caught these latinos instead. Poor dumb b*st*rds were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The events of today have been very confusing. Moose was giving his appeal on TV to "call us" early this am a few minutes after the cops had already bagged these 2 illegals. How could Moose know these weren't the snipers? Maybe the Richmond cops didn't want Moose to horn in on the credit so they didn't tell him about it or Moose is clueless.

Thank you for this post. I have greater faith in the Richmond/VA police than I do in the rest put together.

With all the vaunted capability of the DC regional gang what has been produced? And many in media appear to want one big dictator on federal level to trample the Constitution and keep them safe, even pushing for the NYPD to head the investigation! This is just what the socialist crowd is wishing and what the commies past said we would cry for when we got enough fear in our belly.

I do not think any should be called Keystone anything but must admit that everyone I know is uneasy about anything being handled by the inarticulate Moose. Since he is the only visual representative of the group it is hard to get past the dis-ease. Then, again,the perception may be due solely to the fact of that man's somewhat incoherent communication skills.

A poster on another thread who knows him from his past jurisdictions was far more critical than most here....about many things including his character and his power plays in the other job. While that may raise caution flags it should not deny him an opportunity to perform on levels where he is capable.

Since I am an inside the beltway VA target I am flabbergasted and ashamed that the Northern VA LEO's apparently are rag-doll puppets for the MD crowd without any evident original idea or concept. Having seen nothing more out of them than a show of military style brute force against some INNOCENTS caught in roadblocks here I am enormously disillusioned. With all that I would prefer what we have to the mega-bucks feds who may railroad whomever they choose (ala Randy Weaver or the Texas Toast crowd) just to show their capability to bag a perp and justify increasing their agency power over the nation.
