Oh goodness gracious. As my grandmother used to say..."my penny from my sow's purse is just as good as one from a silk purse".
Wait, that's not right.
LOL

the caller used a voice-distortion device and was very difficult to understand. 'Kay, it was digitally distorted, it can be digitally resolved. It's not a problem, the technology already exists.
To: chookter
Does anyone really believe, I mean seriously, that the message was unclear or distorted or whatever?
To: Conservababe
No he nagged me for not being nice and then banned me.
I think that is how it happens when you're not in the clique.
~grin~

My intuition is average, but my poker playing is pretty good.
Your speculation has been, very poor, at best.
To: VaBthang4
Yep, he beat the crap out of you.
To: snippy_about_it
Just don't let it happen again! :)

More likely, the audio was bungled by the sniper or the telephone company.Maybe nothing was wrong with the audio. Maybe the police are just trying to get another call so they can obtain more information to analyze. I believe it would be smart to keep the killer calling--the more times, the better.

Anyone who has followed this case from Day 1 has to have reservations about Chief Moose. He does not exude competance, compare him with almost anybody else who's spoken and Moose comes in last. The initial shootings took place in Montgomery Co.,the media pitched their tents there, and Moose took charge of the investigation.Well, its moved way beyond that stage. Why the FBI hasn't taken over is strange, probably political correctness at work.
To: Conservababe; per loin
When I watched the arrest and seizing of the white van this morning and then the immediate new Mooseism by the Moose shortly afterwards, I'm going something is really wrong here.
Then, I heard about the mother phoning the cops about the suspicious van, and then the people in the same van are arrested with about 50 to 100 LEO's hidden around that filling station, my inner Bravo Sierra warning buzzer was going off.
When, I read per loin's speculation, and I go oh. I wonder how many pay phones in that area were being monitored. A few minutes later on Fox, we learn that all of the pay phones in a certain area were being monitored/watched.
I fly fish, and the comment made while fly fishing when your fly really fools a big ole fish, "Wow, that fish ripped his lips off try to eat my fly!"
It appears to me that Moose ripped his lips off trying to eat this lure that the sniper tossed his way.
I would not want to be a civilian doing civilian things this evening around the DC area. The sniper may just prove again he can do whatever he wants to.

It makes me wonder if this sniper knew Moose, when Moose was the Police Chief in Portland? Or one of his buddies knew Moose as Police Chief in Portland?
He appears to playing and toying with Moose and knowing how he will respond!

Gee you posted this un PC comment:
Given the rampant political correctness, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that they had a deaf officer take the call. I will not even go there with you. It is too tempting!

"The sniper may just prove again he can do whatever he wants to." Hope your right, but I still got a bad feeling that its snipers plural.

I was pleased to hear the news of the release of the two illegals to the INS and deportation processes already underway.
To: Kevin Curry
I believe most incoming calls to Law Enforcement agencies are recorded, along with caller ID.With all thats been going on in that area,I'd be really surprised if this call wasn't recorded, I hope Moose is just trying to sucker the suspect into a trace.I'd be even more surprised if anyone would fall for this.

The wife of a friend of mine overheard Colonel Massengill, Superintendent of the Virginia State Police at lunch today loudly complaining that Moose overplayed this hand.
He was not supposed to release any information concerning the note, even the reference to the phone number. VSP and Henrico PD had the phone staked out all night, and were hoping to catch this guy, but caught these latinos instead. Poor dumb b*st*rds were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"The police are getting a bum rap." They don't deserve criticism for not catching a virtually uncatchable criminal.
Batman's most feared enemy was Two Face, because he was unpredictable. He flipped a coin to make decisions.
They DO deserve criticism for not living up to generations of phony pretense that they are the protectors of society, and can be counted on to catch such criminals. Their sin is not living up to their hype.
You mean they won't protect us? Then how is gun control supposed to work?

...Freepers resume praying.
We have never stopped praying, for strong leadership to step up and take control.
DIRtttty HARrryyyyy, we love you, DC needs you, bring the 44mag... Moose, needs some help......
This PC stuff with media's beloved, while being, incompent, uneducated, foster child of "AFERMATIVE ACTION", Chief Moose has to stop.
My heart and prayers are with the people in the DC area.
My concerns are that it may well be comming to a shopping center, gas station or a parking lot near us.
My Love of my Life for over 39 years of "Till Death Do Us Part", thinks this whole deal going on is just a joke and the things that are going over will just go away.
Sadly, she is not alone in her denial.
..resume ducking and hiding?
Sadly, Maybe... I do not today, but tomrorrow is another day, but trust me when I am ducking and hiding, I am looking for an open shot.
To: Grampa Dave
Methinks that the sniper does not have to prove anything for a long time, yet.
