"For me it just underlines the point that our government is incapable of protecting us"
Bullwinkle Moose, our Affirmative Action police chief, ought to shrug off the criticism he is deservably getting.
The problem is that they need a Henry Ford to coordinate all of these assets so that there is specialization of labor and skills.
Bullwinkle's job, like any other city police chief, is too suck up to the power brokers and assuage the cowardly sheeple in the general population by continually fooling them into thinking that somebody is "doing something". That's all he is qualified to do.
The uniformed cop is only qualified to handle domestic disputes, donut shop reviews, and most importantly accost motorists and write reports. It is when they try to play Dick Tracy is why we have all of these bills for overtime and absolutely nothing in return. So instead of stuffing taxpayer money down a rat hole, have them do what they do best - harrass motorists. How do you think they found Timothy McVeigh? He was busted for having no plates by a sherrif who had no clue about McVeigh's earlier involvment in the OKC event. Now reports say that the vehicle in question had numerous violations such as a broken tail-light. Instead of having 300+ officers standing around or unrolling yellow tape at each shooting crime scene, have them do what they are specialized to do. Good Grief! Hasn't every minority group bitched and moaned about getting busted for "driving while black"? If the perps are minorities, and according to the testimony of various minority group leaders, police are always stopping non-whites, and with the overwhelming quantity of police officers out, and with most citizens cowering behind the washing machine rather than out and about, these guys should have been busted on the tail-light infraction alone no more than 100 yards from their driveway!
Let the CIA control their drones and flying monkeys, the FBI can continue to have Lon and his ilk stalk neighborhoods, and the ATF can do whatever the ATF does (which not even God knows what they do)
But give us, the people, all of the information and tips gathered so far!
Here is the problem: We have a bunch of paid proffesionals who have nothing to lose and all to gain by their incompetancy.
The budget managers, who have squandered money in other unrelated areas see a great opportunity to milk this for tons of money to fill the holes in their ledgers.
With each passing day, the law enforcement brass are coming up with excuses by saying "If we only had this expensive ______ gadget, then we could catch this guy", and behold! alongs comes the money because we got to catch this guy even if it costs billions. What is a billion dollars if it saves even one life?
The foot soldiers in this ordeal are loving the time and a half overtime that seems to there for the taking. How dang hard is it to make 150% pay just by standing around a crime scene? The only occupational hazard is getting bored to death.
So as each day passes by, and the power brokers put their minstrel moose before the cameras each day, to let him emabarass himself with each statement - we the bozos footing this bill (in federal taxes) are spending our time ridiculing the dupe and ignoring the fact that the powers that be aren't terribly interested in killing this golden goose.
We know that these people aren't that serious (OK, Moose is serious, give him credit for that), because even to this day there is interagency competition to nab the guys by withholding information and steering agencies into dead ends - a clear sign that putting the colar on the criminal results in winning the grand prize in terms of budget increases. So we know their motivation - power and money.
That leaves the few remaining "men" in this country who are sick and damn tired of so many candy a--- whining and crying over this situation that is blown WAY out of proportion. (ie. Compare casualties of the past two weeks here to the latest singular bomb blast in Israel). Give us the information, and without charging the people of Peoria for MD/VA's crime abatement programs, let the "men" of the area form that mythical "militia" of the liberal's 2nd Amendment fame, and let us put the fear of several thousand p-o'd men with guns and something at stake into their blackended hearts.
The paid lackey's have failed. Pull out the JV's and bring out the Varsity.

I have to ask; isn't it the Indian who wants to run around in his loincloth without being hassled by "The Man"?
To: Lurking2Long

Agreed. Just glad he is not dyslexic and it is "message UNclear" and not "message NUclear". Good thing :) Prayers and good thoughts go out to all LEOs involved, hoping they solve this case quickly.

Don't know if anyone posted this...but NBC news said that they are holding back information at the request of investigators...but that they now have information that we are entering a new and dangerous phase of this whole game.
Did anyone else hear this?
