I was just kidding... I hope you didn't take it personable ;0)

FYI: As soon as the authorities figured out the shooter crossed state lines, it then became the jurisdiction of the FBI.

Police trying to establish contact with the Washington-area sniper said Monday they had received a phone call but they could not understand it and publicly asked the person to call back. The person you called could not hear everything you said. The audio was unclear and we want to get it right. Call us back so that we can clearly understand,
Capt. Moose went on to explain that annoying beep beep you will hear is nothing so please don't hang up or nothing. And talk reaaaal slow soooo we caaan uunnndersttaaaand you.
You can't make this stuff up. Barney Fife would set a more convincing trap. And have the sense to turn on the recorder before picking up the phone. If it wasn't so sad it would be funny.

"This case has to be the first time I have ever heard Freepers demand that the government supply as much information as possible to the media.
I thought most of us ignored the lamestream media."
I completely agree that there is much information about this investigation that cannot and should not be released, and I am not a big apologist for the media - But the task force is not releasing the information they could release.
For example, it was clear over the weekend that the van they found the shell case in was not a factor in this case. The press clearly knew before Moose's conference on Saturday and he would still not release the information.
Not quickly clearing what they can just breeds confusion and distrust with the media and with the public. When people or things are clearly NOT related there is no benefit to pretending they are and scheduling a news conference to finally fess up 2 days later. The shooter already knew they were not related.
We are seeing the same pattern being repeated with the arrest of the men in the van today. All sources have said we do not have the shooter. Moose himself is still leaving 'messages' for the shooter even after their arrest. But even without giving details about their arrest, he still would not just say, "Despite the arrests this morning, we still do not yet have the shooter."
I believe that most of the decisions concerning the communication with the public are being made at and close to Charles Moose. The Feds quite honestly don't care what he says as long as he doesn't 'give away the store'.
But no matter who is responsible for this, the insistence of maintaining silence about information which is already obvious is becoming obsurd and making the investigation appear inept - even if it is not. The only person(s) not confused in this investigation is the shooter.

Are you concluded?

I wish everyone would get off of Moose's back....
I heartily agree with you. Some of the idle comments from the armchair quarterbacks are completely uncalled for and completely unfair.

I wish everyone would get off of Moose's back.... From what I know it is illegal to ride a moose unless you have a permit

It's amazing to me how some on this site will resort to name calling, ridiculing,...etc...as soon as they don't agree with the action/actions of someone else I think it has a lot more to do with the following:
(1) He seems to be courting the spotlight. Interestingly, I read an earlier post from a Portland resident (where Moose was formerly chief of police) saying that the most dangerous place to be during a high-profile crime investigation was between Moose and a camera;
(2) Many of the posters are familiar with Moose's history in Portland;
(3) Moose got his job in Montgomery County not because he was the most qualified, but because of his understanding of "diversity" issues, not to mention the fact that Clinton and Reno pressured the powers-that-be into making the hiring decision; and
(4) He can't speak English.
If he is going to be a spokesperson, he should be able to speak properly. His lack of verbal skills does not instill confidence in his abilities. Even if he has an IQ of 160 and his speaking problems are "cultural," his inability to speak makes him sound inept.
A case of this magnitude and complexity requires the best and brightest to be at the helm, not the product of affirmative action.

There was something about a school shooting on the news tickers today, 2 dead and (6?) wounded, man (not a student) walked into a classroom and opened fire. The students tackled him to the ground. No information on where it occurred, or whether the shooter was affiliated with Allah's Snackbar.

IMHO the caller, or whomever left this "imfamous" note, is now calling the....(no pun intended) shots ! It appears to me that Moose and Co. are doing everything possible to follow the demands of this demented person, therefore, details to the public are sketchy. In other words, they are doing everything in their power at this time to cooperate with the demands being made.
By sharing any important information, as the officials learn of this information, it could p!ss off this messenger and communication would be eliminated completely. I see it like a big murder mystery unfolding right before our eyes. It's unfortunate that so many lives had to be lost, and I pray for all families, and loved ones involved.

That was my point as well. Maybe I should have included the sarcasm tag. If every illegal in the DC area were rounded up, who would serve the public in ventures such as hotel room maids, landscaping jockeys, roofing crews, and so on.... You cannot selectively apply immigration laws on just these guys because they took up six hours of news time and made the mistake of using a payphone! I'm surprised they don't get the death penalty. The cops look mighty clueless.
To: blackdog
I think every illegal in the country should be rounded up and deported back to their country of origin (but then again, I think all non American Indians should ALSO be deported to wherever so I can run around in my loin cloth without being hassled by The Man, but that's beside the point)
