Sympathy for Farrakhan
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Exclusive commentary by Patrick Rooney
Oct 21, 2002
When I saw the tanks in Tianamen Square in China, Chinese rolling over their own, I knew that this was being planned against you, here in America. --Louis Farrakhan, Speech to Salem Baptist Church, Harlem October 16, 2002 The dishonorable Louis Farrakhan was at it again last week, speaking at a Christian church (Salem Baptist church) in Harlem, telling the faithful that President George W. Bush is Satanic, and that American blacks are being set up for slaughter, among other choice rantings. Days before, the Detroit City Council hosted Farrakhan there, where he remarked that President Bush is more of a threat to world peace than Saddam Hussein!
All I can say is shame!shame on this wild ass of a man; shame on a Christian church for letting him defile their place of worship; shame on the Detroit City Council; and shame on any American who continues to associate with this snake. Believe me, you will all get what you deserve. Unfortunately, the fallout from your senselessness may reach the innocent.
The black community is so lost right now: In Arkansas, the amoral Bill Clinton is inducted into the states black Hall of Fame; shakedown artist/adulterer Jesse Jackson still enjoys a fair measure of respectability; Al Sharpton is running for President; and Louis Farrakhan is allowed into a Christian church to spew his venom. The rot in the black community is evident at the spiritual topthe black churches. They are typically hotbeds of racist, socialistic/humanistic teachings which fail to rebuke, and instead coddle their growing and increasingly female flocks.
Therefore it is of little surprise that a black Christian church would host Farrakhan-- spiritually, theyre the same.
Watching Farrakhan speak to Salem Baptist church last week, I saw unquestionably another potential Hitler. And in the faces of the audience, I saw angry, sad, weakened human beings who were like so many sheep being devoured and controlled by an ambitious, desperate wolf.
Make no mistake about it, Farrakhan, in all his fiery evil oratory, is back. Some guilty of wishful thinking had thought hed mellowed. What he had done was cleverly repackage himself into a more inclusive demagogue. This, coupled with his reported prostate cancer surgery and recovery in 2000, had quieted him down for a bit. Apparently he has now calculated that, with Bush set to take out Farrakhans spiritual brother Saddam Hussein, time is short and so Farrakhan must rally the troops. Therefore the mask, and the gloves, are off.
The sad truth is that the black community, with the notable exception of Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson of BOND (who long ago went on record calling Farrakhan another Hitler) and a few others, refuses to speak out against Farrakhan. This is tragic. The white community in contrast has its Farrakhan in David Duke, but Duke and his ilk have long since been discredited by mainstream whites. No other community in America tolerates this kind of overt racism and sedition from its leaders.
Even more critical to Farrakhans widespread support are those of other races who have taken pains to work with him, even though they fundamentally disagree with his racist positions. From what Ive seen, they have the misguided notion that they may convert him. Every once in a while Farrakhan feigns a softening of heart, and this is enough to convince them that theyre having the desired effect on him. What these people do not realize, is that in seeking to convert the devil, they are instead giving credibility to the devil.
An example of this is October of 2000s Million Family March, which was created to play off of the success of Farrakhans Million Man March, but yet be less racist. The kinder, gentler Jew hater was unveiled. This event did succeed in gaining Farrakhan some additional support in non-black communities, and that is a tragedy.
As President George W. Bush prepares the nation for a necessary assault on Saddam Hussein, Farrakhan has been increasingly nervous. He recently visited Baghdad and was quoted as saying that American Muslims were praying for Iraqs victory. Once upon a time, in a saner world, this kind of behavior was referred to as treason. Louis Farrakhan should have never been allowed to reenter the United States. But President Bush is not willing to risk the kind of political fallout hed suffer for taking that action.
So what do we have here, what are our options? Seeing as Farrakhan isnt going to be deported any time soon, it is critical that his credibility is not falsely propped up by do-gooders. We know what he is. We must expose and shun evilthat is our charge. We must not give evil any hint of refuge.
The Nation of Islam, together with other malcontents of all races, constitutes a very real threat to the security and survival of the United States of America. Its time we understood that we are in a war of survivaland stop singing Kumbaya with Hitler.
