It sounds like you have done an admirable job homeschooling. I would point out, however, that my daughter undoubtedly could have passed the state exam for a high school degree at age 13 AND at age 12 she scored higher on the SATs than the average high school senior. She's never had a single day of homeschooling or private schooling; public schools only. This is not because she's a genius; it's because she's gotten a good education in public schools AND good support at home.

G'morning kegler4! :)

Thank you for your kind words, but the truth is, it's the *kids* who are responsible for the way in which they liked to learn, and the results obtained from their own efforts. ;)

You say that *your* daughter has never had a day of home-schooling in her life, - "just good support at home."

kegler4, - that's *precisely* what Home Educating *is* and it begins at conception.

Your daughter had 4 or 5 years of "home-schooling" before she ever set foot in a public school, and then every night and weekend that you spent with her from then on too.

Well loved children nearly *always* do well in school and I'm not talking just about grade averages which, when you get down to it, don't mean too awful much! After all, - we don't get into Heaven on our IQ!

I am happy that you found a public school that you felt comfortable leaving your daughter with. Personally, I hated school, - until I got into music school that is. :)

I always knew that I didn't want to send my own kids away to be educated though. It just didn't feel natural to me, and we had a *bunch* of them! I loved having my kids around all the time, and really miss them now that all but one are out in the world making their own way.

If I were healthier I'd love to *adopt* a half a dozen, but that isn't going to happen, so I guess I'll just have to content myself with grandchildren, - the first of which is due on April 11th, 2003. (God willing!).

In the peace and love of Christ, - Anij.
