It was reported earlier this morning that the van had an NRA sticker on it. It also had a thirty day temporary tag, so it seems highly unlikely that the sticker belonged to the new owner, who still did not have an inspection sticker or County Decal. OTOH, the guy could simply have stolen/faked a temp tag as a disguise. That's certainly the simplest explanation.
The combination of Bush/NRA and Mexican Flag stickers is an odd one, BTW -- not really the sort of thing you'd expect to see on a recently-bought van. It would be odd if one or the other wasn't scraped off by the previous owner, or even by this owner.

Ok this may be far fetched by maybe this arrests are nothing more then a decoy by the police. It seems everytime info is leaked about clues in the case(white van in Maryland found, white van with shell found) the sniper strikes agian within hours to prove that he is still out there..Perhaps the police have a good idea who this guy is and if the pattern holds he will strike this afternoon and police are tailing the guys

.......These were his last words before the snipers bullet drilled a hole through the front of his forehead.
I would rather those be my last words as opposed to "hep me! hep me! eeeeeeeeeeeeek!".

In the taped interview Ms. Musselman (again guessing)
said the van she saw was the same van at the Exxon station.
I heard the interview about 1:30 hours again. The tv is on in the breakroom in my office.

I am wondering how so many cops were there to converge on the van in the Exxon station so quickly ? >>>>>
CNN said someone called the tip line Sat. nite & told
police to look for a note in the woods @ the shooting scene.
police traced that call back to Broad ST. (?)......
This A.M. they had police covering a 4-5 mile radius
of Broad St. so they were able to move in quickly....

Seriously, how impressive is it for you to be saying these things all the way from Florida? I think his point's valid. Walking around scared detracts from the quality of life, and puts you at no less risk than anyone else. When we're talking about 12 shot in 2/3 weeks the risk to any one person is extremely low. Better to just forget that there's a threat and go about your business.

I think it was a Marine Corps sticker, not an NRA sticker. They look similar.

PMSNBC is reporting that the police said after reading the note left...."it will be a difficult time we will have to go through".... I think it is because he knows that these have been terrorist assaults, and that the messages that have been left behind corroborate this fact.

Cell phones in the hands of alert citizens can stop a lot of criminals. And digital cameras. (or the old fashioned kind).
Did the retired policeman say the van at the gas station phone "booth" was the same one called in by the soccer mom?
To: newsperson999
witness on CNN just described suspect as "olived skin"
To: Crusher138
JMO but I don't think anyone knows how they will react until they are called to do so. CD

Seriously, what good does being terrorized do? You embolden the terrorist and encourage them to do it more. Live your life and give the finger to those who would take your liberty! .......These were his last words before the snipers bullet drilled a hole through the front of his forehead.
I would rather those be my last words as opposed to "hep me! hep me! eeeeeeeeeeeeek!".
....and when he cried out help me, help me, eeeeek -he lived happily ever after.
I guess life or death is a personal choice.

Thought I'd post here what I posted on the other thread too, in case others haven't read this.
Sorry if this has been posted, I've been visiting other sites due to the problems here today, and found this on one of them.
This whole thing is getting to be more like a Ludlum or Clancy than I ever imagined. The guy in the article seems to have Yugoslav origins.
French Soldier Missing in N. America
"PARIS -- France has alerted Interpol about a French army deserter who is known as a marksman and is missing in North America. A Defense Ministry spokesman said there was speculation of a link to the investigation into the Washington-area sniper."
To: Quilla
no charges filed yet, just questioning.
