Last one was 30 to 33 yards. Not much of a challange for a gut shot. Maybe it was a trainee.

I just thought of something concerning the phone number that's been talked about. There's been speculation that the sniper is using internet tools to help plan out his targets and escape routes. Check out Angel.com. It's a local (to Fairfax) operation that lets you set up a 800 number for free on a trial basis. You can type in a welcome message that gets converted from text to voice, and is repeated to users when the number is called. If the sniper left that number for LE to call, they would get a computer sounding voice message. They could leave a message in a voice mail box. It might be that they were asking the sniper to call the number back and leave a message for them to access.

I'm also interested in knowing who's leaking the info..

The man, whose name has not been released, was apparently a good marksman.IF he's our guy, I tend to think he would be some kind of mercenary. And as such, he could be working for anybody of course.
I do find it very strange that this is coming out now. Furthermore, the composite picture was allegedly shown on TV. If it's officially confirmed, then why didn't we get one here too? Whether it was shown on TV or not, somebody obviously was able to come up with a composite drawing in order for his classmates to recognize him. Where is it?

Assume the worst case scenario. The guy is good and knows how to plan and execute his getaways. If he's shooting from 500 yards, that'll really spook everyone.

hmmm...interesting..But do you have to give your name and address to sign up for FREE?
To: ThinkingMan
He let everyone know that the arrested were not the shooter (otherwise, why would he send a message to the shooter after the arrest) so the shooter did not have to strike again to prove he is still free. That's right..With all the advanced technology that they're using throughout this investigation, I wonder WHY they haven't been able to take him down?...

I know, that's why they think there is more to it that just money. It's just so grim. I hope Chris Matthews and his panel doesn't get anyone killed. The speculation is intense and is interesting, tonight, and is very scary. Maybe I like to scare myself. LOL.

I set up a test account a while ago. I think you only needed to give an email address at that time. Once the trial period ran out, you had to give a credit card number.

LOL, Chris Matthews et,al., are onto the Zodiac killer, I feel better now. :)

Hubby said he just heard it on cnn while channel surfing.

"We don't know. He could have eaten at the steak house and left the note inside the place or outside."I keep trying to 'think like this guy' (which is not easy). I guess he could have left a note IN the restaurant, but that would make it more dangerous for him (maybe that's what he wanted?) if the note was found prior to his taking the shot.
He strikes me as a very meticulous person; someone trying NOT to be caught.
I assume that if he not alone, he has someone with the engine idling (in order not to draw any attention by a vehicle starting up), or if he is alone, the engine is left idling.
This case is "flustrating' because we don't have a lot of info.

It all makes for unease as it's so strange.

And the DOD plane gets there is how many minutes? Don't know. Obviously the Moose would try to string him out for as long as possible. But if he's smart, he'll put strict limits on how long he calls from any given location.
You can read more about the airplane in Killing Pablo: The Hunt for the World's Greatest Outlaw, by Mark Bowden.
To: vollmond
oh...Now, let me ask..even if you say have a hotmail email addy, is that ultimately traceable?
